Canon's new XL H1S and XL H1A prosumer HD camcorders {Engadget HD}

Apr 10th 2008 12:13PM I am tempted to say wait untill AVCHD catches up to HDV (which appears to be happening sooner than later) and get a Cam that records to solid state...HDV and tape's days are numbered...especially with the increased capacities and falling prices of solid state media...

Feb 21st 2008 7:59PM Now, where is the video of Harmonix and Coulton playing "Still Alive" together on "Rock Band"?

Seen@GDC: When cosplayers sell out {Joystiq}

Feb 21st 2008 12:56PM Looks like some sort of Steampunk deal...I wonder what game they are promoting?

Toshiba pulling the plug on HD DVD already? - Yup it's over. {Engadget HD}

Feb 16th 2008 2:47PM I invested in both formats, mostly becuase it was the only way that I could watch all the movies that I wanted to in HD. I was hoping that having two formats would lead to lower prices, but that never really seemed to be the case. Well, at least now I can stock up on HD-DVD titles cheaply as I am sure there is going to be a mass sell off in the near future. I just hope that mass consumer adoption of Blu-Ray happens very quickly so that prices drop to current DVD levels...although, as there seems to be a general lack of mass consumer adoption for anything HD (due to general consumer apathy for HD), I probalby shouldn't hold my breath on that one...

D-Link's DGL-4500 Gaming Router breezes by the FCC {Engadget}

Sep 24th 2007 5:40PM I have the current Generation D-Link Game Router and it works perfectly with XBOX...in fact, it has built in rules to handle the 360 and XBOX LIVE (i.e., it automatically detects the XBOX and opens up the neccessary ports for connectiong to XBOX Live. And I have multiple 360s on my LAN and it hanldes all of them without any lag or drops...before I had a Linksys wireless router, and as soon as we had three people online at the same time, the lag would cause all games to become unplayable...

3200 MS points for $20 at Circuit City [Update] {Joystiq}

Jul 30th 2007 2:05AM I went to the nearest CC and they were all out. So I took the ad and walked into the BB next door and they PMed it. The BB manager was a bit perplexed that they would mark down points cards (as they are essentialy proxies for money, like a gift card)...but after looking the ad over...I think it helped that the 1600 cards were in the ad...he told the cashier to take $10 off of each card and I was all set. Now to hit up the other four BBs in my city...since I have a recepit showing that they honored the deal, it will be harder for them to reject it...

Class action lawsuit could be building against Microsoft for 360 fall update woes {Joystiq}

Dec 7th 2006 6:19PM Looks like this is the real deal... Gamespot got a copy of the complaint from the Washington Disctrict Court....now I just hope that the media keeps getting wind of this so that M$ will at least be forced to admit guilt...

Class action lawsuit could be building against Microsoft for 360 fall update woes {Joystiq}

Dec 7th 2006 12:55PM The point is not so much to get any money out of M$ (byeond a refund on the $140 "repair fee" that M$ insists on charging people to fix a problem THEY caused)...the reason for doing this is to get M$ to admit that they made a HUGE mistake and that they need to take responsibility in fixing it instead of sticking their head in the sand....you can go on YouTube and view dozens of videos of people experiecing the havoc that the fall "update" created...my system that was effected had a build date of April 2006 and it failed in the EXACT same way that all those videos on YouTube show...so you can't say this is just an isolated incident or that it is affecting only a very small portion of the Xbox user base...
