Grant's Appliances reportedly ditching HD DVD {Engadget HD}
Jan 22nd 2008 7:48PM I'll add 50 to that one.
Hey Eddie... why don't you give it a rest, man?? You're embarassing yourself and I I honestly am not trying to be mean when I say that. I read on another topic that you actually believe Paramount and Universal are going to stay Red...? Are you serious?? You should disappear from these forums or admit defeat now before you look even worse.
Motorstorm 2 gains a new GUI from scratch {PS3 Fanboy}
Jan 9th 2008 9:29PM I'd be pretty shocked if they didn't develop a completely new GUI for Motorstorm 2.... since the GUI from the first one was pretty close to making the game unplayable.
I bet those load times improve too... shocker!
Sources say Universal and Paramount are both going Blu {Engadget HD}

"I'm just sick of all the swinging around from which side is winning each week!"
That's a pretty red-optimistic view of the situation I'd say. This is already over..
@ Everyone else
.. for all the negative crap I see about Sony around here there are some things that should be said of Toshiba in this situation;
- You'd either have to be an idiot or lying at Toshiba if you were totally blindsided by the Warner move... I'd have to guess lying.
- You'd either have to be an idiot or lying at Toshiba if you "really" believe you still have a shot at winning. I'm gonna go with lying here too - - so you are therefore trying to get out of the situation losing the least amount of money in the process - which isn't helpful to the consumer who bought into your format.
I'm not too impressed with Paramount either - because when they took their bribe and accepted the red contract, they knew that wouldn't be a deathblow to Blu Ray. At the same time, they could have dealt a huge blow to Red by going Blu at that point, and would have prevented a lot of holiday HD-DVD purchase mistakes. The move extended the war if anything.
Don't worry Paramount, I'll still buy Star Trek on Blu.
New Line confirms it'll follow in Warner's Blu footsteps {Engadget HD}
Jan 5th 2008 7:09PM Sorry I did mean Paramount back there.. my bad :S
Same point though.
New Line confirms it'll follow in Warner's Blu footsteps {Engadget HD}
Jan 5th 2008 5:10PM This pretending to be upset over 'giving the customer a choice' or the ridiculous notion of doubling sales by supporting two formats (that only works in the short term, goofs) didn't seem to be that big of an issue when Universal went Red as I recall.
Oh well, they won't be red for long. Escape Clause!!!
PlayStation Fancast 007: Post-E3 edition {PS3 Fanboy}
Jul 16th 2007 11:35PM geez Andrew... you were taking the price drop fiasco a little personally , no? Calm down brother... !!
The battle continues: firmware 3.30 decrypted {PSP Fanboy}
Mar 31st 2007 9:17AM And one more thing...
Anybody who seriously thinks Phil Harrison runs 3.10OE on his PSP has a pretty warped view of reality.
Let me break it down to one sentence for you :
TOO EASY PIRACY = DANGEROUS FOR GAME SYSTEM. Get it now everybody?
And too easy for you guys, 'techies', doesn't mean too easy for MAINSTREAM CONSUMERS. Just because you can downgrade and then upgrade your PSP and roll the dice on bricking it doesn't mean Billy's parents are going to let him try it.
WAKE UP.

Mar 30th 2007 11:31PM If this little poem doesn't make it obvious why this type of thing should be stopped, I don't know what will.
The PRIMARY use of hacked firmware is to run illegally copied/pirated software, which hurts Sony just as this message implies.
Use official firmware & buy the games you play... or your options in the future may suffer as a result.
Does everybody remember Sega Dreamcast? Kind of cooincidental how it died just as mass piracy without the need of a mod chip became rampant.
$179.95 120GB HDD: you're the man now dog! {Xbox 360 Fanboy}
Mar 30th 2007 2:02AM Not only am I not buying an Elite or a separate 120 GB HD, I'm bringing my "Premium" console to EB for a credit TOMORROW.
I'm sorry, but I'm not a Halo guy, and I can live without Mass Effect.. and I could care less about anything else... my PS3 will take care of those needs.
Microsoft; a year ago I thought you had all your ducks in a row.... but owning both of these consoles (In CANADA no less, where we don't even GET content to fill 120GBs in the first place.. nice going) is starting to open my eyes to who really is ready for the future, Sony.
You boys got scared and didn't include a hard drive in every box like you should have for game cache (BIG mistake), and now you're showing fear again by releasing an HDMI "elite" machine and a ridiculously overpriced HD for us losers who bit first and gave you the lead you're going to lose. You're going to confuse mainstream consumers too... GOOD LUCK getting to 100 million sold with this mess.
500 for my premium + 60 last years live + 200 new hard drive = wait a minute... I thought this was supposed to be cheaper than my PS3? Thats what everybody keeps telling me. And I haven't even touched the HD - DVD add on yet. Yuck.
I'll get a boatload of credit on this and spend it all on PS3 games for quite some time. Screw this. I hope Halo is DAMN good for the rest of you.
Remote Play not enhanced in latest firmware? [Update 1] {PSP Fanboy}
Mar 24th 2007 12:24PM The PS3 is wired through a Linksys router (Cisco Systems) & the PSP was used through a Linksys wireless access point as well.
I suspect there may be something you need to configure w/your firewall setting on the router the PS3 is connected through.
I work for a major electronics retail chain, and have been through a few routers in my day - I will only sell Linksys now.
