REPORT: Toyota execs deny cover-up after feds rebuke automaker over runaway car investigation {Autoblog}
Nov 6th 2009 10:15AM Four of those deaths occurred in August when an off-duty California Highway Patrol Officer, traveling with his wife, daughter and brother in-law, were killed after their Lexus accelerated uncontrollably. The driver's brother in-law called 911 and said that the brakes didn't work before the vehicle reached an intersection, struck another car, went into a ditch and caught fire.
-------------------------------
So this person had time to call 911, but not time to shift into neutral or do some other thing and they all died, and he was a freakin' cop, not a scared out of her mind 90 year old lady?
These people are morons. Good riddance.
I believe their car was horribly defective, but sometimes, you gotta take a few steps to save yourself.

Nov 6th 2009 10:06AM if you are still wondering, I'm pretty sure that Pam was genuinely taken by Michael's kindness and thoughtfulness towards her mother, and that's why she wasn't so happy with him breaking it off in such a manner. But then the breakup re-affirmed that Pam was right all along, which pissed her off even more to the point of blows.
And Michael was confused by her age. I assume Michael is around 40, and probably thought she was mid to late 40's. That's still pretty old if you are worried about fertility without expensive treatments, but not around 18 years of difference.

Nov 2nd 2009 11:57AM Paranormal Activity was a suprisingly good horror film (and scary), even though the end was a bit silly. Which, from what I read, is Steven Spielburg's idea, and not the original ending.
I have to say that if a film can make you as an audience member believe that calling a Demonologist is a good idea and not silly or insane, then it deserves the success it has found.

Oct 30th 2009 12:37PM I find Roger incredibly annoying, and Stan's kid and his Revenge of the Nerds friends are shticky as well.
When those guys are involved, the comedy is as generic as 3.5 Men.

Oct 30th 2009 10:57AM Michael's dick in the box costume was pretty funny, and very Office-like, since it was a big costume 2 years ago. He's always so far behind.

Oct 21st 2009 5:26PM Actually agree with pyrrhusmj about Central Market. It's a great place to purchase gourment food, but it also makes it acceptable to newbies with many tasting stations, events, and even cooking classes.
For cheese, I'd say there are usually 3-5 booths open where you can sample for free. Imagine that counter above, but with better labling, so you know where the cheese came from and what it's called. And it's all out, so you can touch it and smell the wheels.
For bread, usually 10-20 different flavors.
Great place to shop.

Undercooked fish? Jail
Overcooked chicken? Jail
FA: I thought I did a pretty good job of explaining. My country (points to patch on sleve) Venezuela has a lot of oil (food for cars).
---------
Honestly I thought it was a hilarious send up on how small towns in middle America do the best they can, but are still looked down upon by residents of cities with more money and culture.
IE: it was a send-up of the 'flyover state' idea, which if you asked me is a pretty popular point of contention in the US.
In order to not offend viewers in LA or NY or Boston, they put Venezuela as the offender. The way he was describing Miami (the food is so spicy and it just bleeds culture) made it pretty obvious.
If you didn't think it was funny, then don't ever make a 'flyover state' joke again. Not that you have, I'm just saying.

Oct 1st 2009 5:49PM For her to rent it profitably for $35k a month, she needs to have $6 mill into the $11mm property. For her to rent it profitably at $58k a month, she needs to be about $2.5mm into the $11mm property. My guess is that owes closer to $9 than $5m, and that renting for $35k she was taking a beating.

Sep 28th 2009 11:41AM The company I work for hasn't had free coffee since 2005, 12 oz cokes in the machine are $.60, and the snack machine has your standard fare.
Booo to them!
