MSI Wind barebones desktop now available to order {Engadget}

Aug 20th 2008 6:26PM Is that a subliminal ad for Newegg there? Or did you just "borrow" the image from their web store?

Aug 20th 2008 6:12PM Opera Mini won't even install on my Blackberry. What hope does this Crackerjack toy have?

Firefly 3-disc Blu-ray set coming November 11 {Engadget HD}

Aug 20th 2008 10:50AM The fact that Fox seems to be so clue-impaired in so many ways could possibly be best shown with the Blu-ray releases of Prison Break.

Okay, let's see, there's Season 1. Which sales were a bit slow (since the Blu-ray and HD-DVD wars was still going full steam).

And then I'm in Best Buy the other day and lo and behold, there's season 3 in Blu-ray.

Doh! What the heck happened to season 2?

Fox, are you really that ignorant?

The Treo Pro makes its video debut, inches towards launch {Engadget}

Aug 20th 2008 10:42AM The New York Times did an interesting story on Palm today. Seems one of the guys who helped sav Apple, Jon Rubenstein, is now in charge and he's making big changes and adding a bit of Apple culture to the way products are brought to market.

Interesting since Palm came about from some Apple people leaving the mothership and going out on their own to continue the Newton legacy in a new product.

Palm's Treo Pro gets official {Engadget}

Aug 20th 2008 10:25AM Palm bought BeOS. Imagine the potential innovation they could have done with that?

Now their latest overpriced toy is out and it's got a Windows logo? Of all the...

Can you say clue-impaired?

Nervian's CardReader Pro fits right in with PowerMac G5 / Mac Pro {Engadget}

Aug 18th 2008 10:32AM People are so busy bashing each other about being, or not being, Mac fanboys they ignore the horrendously stupid decision to make a Mac Pro compatible card reader that isn't Firewire 800? USB 2.0? Sure, it's way faster than USB 1, but it's still too slow for think kind of use when you know this thing will probably be priced more like a Firewire 800 Lexar or SanDisk reader.

Yeah, let's make this thing cheaper by $1 not including the best choice of interface with a computer. I mean, after spending $2,500 to $3,200 for a computer, they're not likely to pay that extra dollar to make it four times faster.

I'm sure Apple could build in a card reader for the masses. It would make sense. Read the 52 different card formats that almost nobody uses. But make sure to leave a Firewire 800 port open for a real card reader for us photographers who have big files to move. USB 2 need not apply.

Ozmo's WiFi PAN mouse cuts the wires and the Bluetooth {Engadget}

Aug 18th 2008 10:24AM Okay, USB 2.0 isn't good enough? We need more traffic on WiFi? And I think EMoShunz is right. If you put a slower peripheral on an 802.11n network, everything gets slowed down.

Can you say boondoggle?

Psystar says it is "definitely still shipping" its Mac clones {Engadget}

Aug 14th 2008 12:45PM That the law firm is willing to take shyster's, er, Psystar's money means nothing as far as the outcome. Win or lose, they make their money. So it says nothing about the merits of the case that they are taking Psystar's money.

KOMU-TV brings HD news to mid-Missouri {Engadget HD}

Aug 11th 2008 10:36AM I'd be willing to bet this would be the first HD news staffed by journalism students from the J-School in Colombia.

When I was a student at Mizzou, our journalism program was the only one that ran a commercial tv station (or had a newspaper that competed with the other local paper in town).

I'm surprised it took this this long to do it.
