Rogers announces iPhone 3G plans, unlimited data isn't one of them {Engadget Mobile}
Jun 27th 2008 11:12AM Data is absurdly expensive in Canada because Rogers MAKES it absurdly expensive. There's absolutely no reason for them to be charging such ridiculous data rates. This was an opportunity for Rogers to say to users "Hey, it's about time we joined the civilized world in terms of data rates" and started offering cheap data plans for ALL data users, not just iPhone users. I also don't understand why they have to have different value packs for iPhone users as opposed to regular users?
Rogers' and FIDO's iPhone 3G pricing and data plans revealed? {Engadget Mobile}
Jun 19th 2008 12:42PM Woo! About friggin time. I have no problem signing up for a contract... I have no intention of using anybody but Rogers for my cell phone service in the near future any way... They're the only GSM provider in Canada (Fido aside, and let's face it - Fido == Rogers any way), and I have no intention of switching from GSM phones any time soon. So even if I don't have the iPhone for 3 years, chances are I'll be upgrading and extending my contract further. Oh well. No biggie IMO. Me wants iPhone!
Soul Calibur IV: Yoda video and new screens {Xbox 360 Fanboy}
Jun 2nd 2008 11:43AM So... basically, Yoda can do flying lightsabre flips and roll on the ground. Does he do ANYTHING else??
Rural wireless carriers file FCC petition opposing handset exclusivity {Engadget}
May 22nd 2008 3:18PM Come on... Just because we have mobile data rates equivalent to 3rd world countries, doesn't mean we have to be all sad about it. :)
(Though I think the point is that they *don't* have a choice in rural America... due to limited carriers covering the area)
Rural wireless carriers file FCC petition opposing handset exclusivity {Engadget}
May 22nd 2008 2:11PM This would be sweet, though it'll mean jacked up phone prices. But hell, if people are willing to pay triple (or more!) the price for an unlocked phone with no contract, why not give it to em?
Zune headed for Canada on June 13th! {Engadget}
May 7th 2008 3:25PM Wait, the Zune wasn't available in Canada? Hmph. How 'bout that.
Xerox shows off "erasable paper," hopes to make it available next year {Engadget}
May 5th 2008 12:55PM This is kinda cool. It'd come in handy at my office, with the amount of crap that we print out, for meetings, etc, that then gets chucked into the recycling bin an hour later. Just have to remember to only use that printer for stuff that you don't want to keep for longer than a day.
American Apparel straps RFID tags onto individual garments {Engadget}
Apr 15th 2008 1:54PM I never really liked the American Apparel gear. If I want to buy plain white t-shirts with nothing on them, I'll grab a pack of Fruit of the Looms, and save myself some cash.
This is an interesting concept though, I'll be curious to see how they implement the tags so that they CAN be easily removed by the consumer, without making them ridiculously easy to steal (see above comments about soft tags).
Poll: Who makes the best HD DVR? {Engadget HD}
Mar 20th 2008 1:50PM Hrmm, but can Vista decode my digital/HD stations off Cogeco? I'm asking this seriously, as I haven't looked at the PC TV Tuner market in many years. If not, then I have no use for it. There's shows that I want to record that just aren't available on analog cable in my area.
Poll: Who makes the best HD DVR? {Engadget HD}
Mar 20th 2008 12:23PM OMG, people actually voted for Scientific Atlanta? Maybe you Americans are getting some better stuff than what Rogers throws at us up here in Canada... but god DAMN do I ever hate those SA boxes.
