Look out, Slim: Xbox 360 Elite showing $299 in new Walmart ad {Engadget}

Aug 21st 2009 3:42PM Well, guess people can't b***h about the PS3 not having anything other than a composite cable anymore.

Is this the top of a Canon EOS 7D, or are we just hopelessly optimistic? {Engadget}

Aug 20th 2009 2:31PM My money is that the 7D will slip in below the 5d (higher number, lower price, like 1D and 5D). The 50D will go away and be replaced by this camera. That's why it has the pop-up flash.

Aug 18th 2009 5:42PM ...says the person who has never been to design school.

Symmetry is a mark of a very amateur design usually. Asymmetry can be VERY pleasing to the eye (go look at some tansu stuff). Obviously you have no clue what you are talking about.

GM announces... 2011 Chevrolet Volt will get 230 mpg city! {Autoblog}

Aug 11th 2009 9:13AM @Sean....

Doesn't quite work like that. See, with the volt, your MPG will drop the further you drive it. MPG numbers just don't come into play. The first 40 miles are free, but every mile after that is at whatever the engine is rated (let's say 30 mpg). So if you drive 50 miles, your MPG is like 150 MPG, but when you drive 200 miles, it's more like 37.5 MPG.

Logitech's Harmony 1100 remote is more touchscreen, less buttons {Engadget}

Jan 6th 2009 1:43PM @ Michael -

Don't know about you, but I told my Harmony to use specific Power On and Power Off codes for the devices that support it instead of using the Power Toggle command. I don't have the problem you do. It's not a remote issue, it's a device issue.

Cheap shares lead GM to suspend employee stock purchases {Autoblog}

Oct 4th 2008 9:20PM Simple explanation. When you have a 401k, you get matched by your company, and it's in stock. So let's say you had 5% of your salary matched in 401k. Well, your salary remains the same, but the stock price goes down, so more shares can be bought for the same dollar amount. A 4x drop in stock price equals a 4x increase in volume. This isn't employees rushing to buy stock, this is just the way the 401k is run.

Nissan defends GT-R 'Ring time {Autoblog}

Oct 3rd 2008 1:31PM MrSlice:

You say that Porsche would remove the limiters. Nissan themselves has said that removing the limiters on the GT-R are difficult, leaning towards impossible, for non Nissan people. I doubt Porsche threw a ton of money in trying to remove a limiter for something as minor as this test. Also, the referenced C/D article showed that it wasn't a ponied up press car. They had two that tested below, and two more that tested right in line with the press car. These 4 were customer cars. They said it's the best performance bang for your buck, and they said that it appears they really are creating more than the official HP.

Nissan defends GT-R 'Ring time {Autoblog}

Oct 3rd 2008 1:05PM Don't forget that they used a US-spec version which is limited to 156 (and no GPS like the j-spec to increase the limit). How much do you think that would slow it down on the longer straights? 25 seconds worth? Quite likely.
