Worlds collide: YouTube comes to TiVo {Engadget}

Jul 17th 2008 8:15AM You mean the TiVo sound effects? You can turn that off - it's in the settings area.

Amazon Video on Demand store streams film and TV, launches today {Engadget}

Jul 17th 2008 7:57AM Maybe this is why TiVo is rolling out the 9.4 update, which is supposed to support video on the web.

Time will tell.

Amazon Video on Demand store streams film and TV, launches today {Engadget}

Jul 17th 2008 7:56AM I flipped through the PlayStation store last night and Disney has content up there (I specifically remember seeing "Dumbo").

Video: GLaDOS assures us Portal is 'Still Alive' {Joystiq}

Jul 15th 2008 10:05AM @Helloimbob: Playing Portal was just fine on a controller for me. I had no issues at all.

I personally think the entire controller vs. keyboard/mouse is just in people's heads.

PS3 2.40 bricking caused by 'certain' system admin data {Joystiq}

Jul 8th 2008 3:54PM Hmmmmm... that's a good idea. I personally have a couple of thumbdrives doing absolutely nothing right now (and I would hate to lose my Oblivion and GTA IV saves).

The Media Center Extender shootout {Engadget HD}

Jun 25th 2008 12:29PM The PS3 will (probably) never be an extender for MS's Media Center. That said, the PS3 can handle HD video (including DivX) just fine, it has a gigabit Ethernet jack if you want to use a wired network, and can work as an extender for various video solutions (I recently learned Azureus/Vuze actually shows up as a shared library on the PS3, with no configuration, if you are running that on your network as a BitTorrent client).

So, as a generic media extender, the PS3 is definitely a good candidate. It just won't work as an MS Media Extender.

Mio's Knight Rider GPS speaks with the voice of KITT -- we're in love {Engadget}

Jun 20th 2008 6:09PM He also played John Adams in "1776" which was... a musical. Check it out - it's cute. Not great, but cute.

Snow Leopard to drop PowerPC support? {Engadget}

Jun 11th 2008 4:41PM It's possible that Snow Leopard is not 10.6. I've not seen anything official that states 10.6 and Snow Leopard are one in the same.

MobileMe announced for iPhones, Macs, and PCs -- .Mac is dead {Engadget}

Jun 9th 2008 3:37PM Think about it the other way around: iWeb will have MobileMe support. I can't see that going away.

MobileMe announced for iPhones, Macs, and PCs -- .Mac is dead {Engadget}

Jun 9th 2008 3:36PM I left .Mac years ago and... well... I'm not seeing a reason to go back.

I paid $65 for a lifetime license for Spanning Sync and I use Gmail and Google Calendar... my stuff is already in the cloud.

Okay, if/when I get an iPhone my apps won't sync wirelessly. That really doesn't bother me, especially since Google keeps tweaking their apps to appear nicely on the iPhone.

I think MobileMe should be part of the OS or just plain free (charge $10 or $20 for the Outlook users) and Apple should partner up with Google for the space.

Too little, too late, Apple. This isn't going to convince the former .Mac folks to go running back.
