Finally the $200 Sony Blu-ray drive for a PC {Engadget}
Jan 6th 2008 9:54PM "Blu-ray drive of the PC" - is that English?
Aperture and Time Machine's unhappy co-existence {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Oct 27th 2007 8:46PM Is it confirmed that this is an issue with 1.5.6? The Apple page doesn't say, and I think 1.5.6 was released the same day. It's possible they just haven't updated their page yet. OTOH, I'm not going to risk it...
iPhone review {Engadget}
Jul 5th 2007 6:55AM Works fine for me on my non-Yahoo IMAP server. Could it be a problem with your IMAP? Also, for some reason, you have to quit Mail on Mac OS and re-rerun it for it to be updated with the read status from the iPhone. This is a characteristic (bug?) in Mac OS's Mail, not the iPhone.

Jul 3rd 2007 12:25PM Yes, it works quite well one-handed. Except typing is suboptimal, but that's true the Treo as well. I found it worked just as well if not better than my Treo one-handed. Just go to an Apple store and try it.

iPhone first hands-on video in HD! {Engadget}
Jul 1st 2007 10:41AM I'm finding EDGE to be quite acceptable. Most web pages aren't really all that big. The main difference from my Treo is that it's actually practical to browse most websites with the iPhone's Safari. Blazer looks like a piece of junk in comparison.
iPhone first hands-on video in HD! {Engadget}
Jul 1st 2007 10:39AM I moved from a Verizon 700p to the iPhone. I have to say it makes the 700p look archaic. Even with EDGE instead of EVDO, the iPhone experience is far superior, particularly for web browsing. Half the sites on my Treo look like crap and many are barely usable. The iPhone makes mobile web browsing practical.
iPhone ain't even an iPod without service {Engadget}
Jun 26th 2007 2:23PM Where does it say that it will inactivate the iPod features if you cancel service? All it says is that you will need to sign up for service with a 2 year agreement to ACTIVATE all the features of your device. This has been stated many times before. If you don't plan on using it as a phone, wait for the next generation iPod.
Are there really that many people planning to buy a $500-$600 iPhone and NOT use any phone features???

New details about the iPhone {Engadget}
Jun 24th 2007 12:26PM "Aesthetics aside, you'd be surprised how similar the two systems are."
Aesthetics are the main appeal of the iPhone and what differentiates it from other devices. Yes, many other smartphones have similar or even features. The problem is that the user experience on most of these devices is crap. I've used both WM5 and Palm OS extensively and I'm amazed how poor the design of these systems is.
The iPhone has at least some really impressive interfaces. What we don't know is how well it will work in practice and what the other apps are like. How well will the calendar work? Notes? No one knows yet.
The problem I have with the original post is that we have no idea where this person is coming from, even if they have used the iPhone. Does he or she have an agenda (e.g. have a reason to want the iPhone to fail)? What type of device has this person used previously? How much time was actually spent with the iPhone? What about the rest of the user experience?
We don't learn anything new here aside from the details on the Bluetooth headset (is this poster coming from inside Apple or AT&T - how else would they know the details of pricing which have nothing to do with using the device). The keyboard is going to be highly dependent on an individual person's hands an preferences.
