Apple might be planning keynote for week of September 7th, might have new products on offer {Engadget}
Aug 13th 2009 4:51PM Would it be possible to use the Back To School promotion and buy a mac/ipod on, lets say, Aug 26th, submit the rebate online, leave the ipod unopened, and then exchange it for a potentially new model ipod on Sept 9th?
hmmmm.

Aug 13th 2009 4:32PM The iPod "Back to School" promotion ends September 8th (all Mac/iPods must be purchased by that date). You'd think this event would fall immediately after that.
Question on that promotion. If I bought a mac and ipod next week, could I submit my rebate claim on the ipod immediately after, keep the iPod unopened, and exchange it for a new model after they are released (if in September)?

Jun 10th 2008 1:17PM Yeah, I wouldn't take what a CSR says one day after announcement as truth. I mean, I hope it is as I fall into that group (new customer in March with non-iphone). Sucks that I was banking on iPhone 3g being same buying method as original as it didn't matter if you were a new/old/recent customer.
iPhone 3G may be sold unsubsidized {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Jun 10th 2008 11:27AM This is frustrating to me. I switched to AT&T back in March planning on picking up the new iPhone when it came out. Mainly because at that time, current AT&T users could pick up an iPhone at the same price that everyone else could, regardless if they were new/recent/old customers.
Now, that plan will completely backfire on me. I'm fine re-upping my contract, but this just sucks.
I question how long this activation process is going to take in store. I go in to pick up a phone. Pay for it. Activation starts. It says I'm a current (and recent) at&T customer. I need to pay unsubsidized amount. Pay more. Start activation again? Going to be a mess.

Nov 2nd 2007 1:55PM I originally went to Wal-mart this morning and got an A2. I'm going to return it though after seeing the deal for the A3. 300 and Italian Job in box, Transformers and Hot Fuzz for free, plus the five free movies. Worth the extra $100 for the newer player and more free movies.
Apple's lawyers called, the iPod nano "phatty" is apparently the real deal {Engadget}
Aug 23rd 2007 6:04PM It's possible that people believing this is the next Nano could end up hurting the company on the stock end. It could have just been a mock up for the new Nano and got leaked out there and the reaction across the interwebs could affect investors.
