Aug 1st 2008 12:59PM Ok, I would buy the streaming is cheaper argument if people stream movies *instead* of requesting physical discs. But I suspect that many stream movies *in addition to* receiving discs.

May 28th 2008 5:28PM I agree re: saturation. The small percentage of consumers buying BD players may exceed the number of consumers buying DVD players. Not because BD players are or will be more popular than DVD players, but just because everybody already has a DVD player.

May 9th 2008 10:53PM Those week-to-week stats are the stupidest thing ever. Weekly sales are so heavily influenced by titles released, so they're bound to be all over the place. They don't really indicate any meaningful trend.

Yeah, looks like the settings on the panels might have been configured to emphasize black level differences. I can't believe properly calibrated modern LCD panels are that sh*tty with black levels. Especially that Samsung LED LCD -- it's supposed to do quite well with black.
