Engadget's recession antidote: win one of ten SanDisk 4GB Ultra II SDHC cards! {Engadget}

May 7th 2009 7:38PM Would be great for my Sony PRS-700 Ebook reader. I bought a 12 gb SD card and then after 2 hours on hold while he asked everyone else in the building the customer service rep finally told me it kept crashing because the device only supported up to a 4 gb SDHC and a 12 GB memory stick duo. Would have been awesome if they published that online somewhere...

Fix the economy? How about Robot Slave labor? It could work...

TiVo HD XL DVR hands-on at CEDIA {Engadget HD}

Sep 6th 2008 12:30AM Also i'm guessing the XL supports using a single type M CableCard unlike the Series 3 which forces me to use two type M cards working in single mode. I like the OLED display on my series 3, but given the choice i think i'd buy the box that doesn't cost me an additional fee each month for an extra card i shouldn't need.

Apple voiding warranties, blacklisting hacked iPhones? {Engadget}

Sep 21st 2007 2:48PM Actually there is an exception to the DCMA (apple's favorite bit of legislation) that allows people to unlock cell phones to a new carrier. If I understand the legislation correctly the law allows for the people to hack the phone, just not advertise the hack. Therefore nothing illegal is going on with apple, just a violation of AT&T's contract which should have nothing to do with a hardware warranty on consumer electronics.

Microsoft beefs up Xbox 360 cooling -- freaking finally {Engadget}

Jun 13th 2007 12:36PM I'm not sure which version/model everyone else has but I have a 360 that I bought on launch day and yes it does get incredibly hot. Microsoft tried to squeeze too many components in as small and quiet box as possible because of the complaints about the original xbox. One of the reason I believe mine is still running is because one the warranty expired I opened it up and replaced the stock thermal paste with a name brand and better application. I'm just glad Microsoft is finally working on a fix for this problem.

Lego dock provides home to full assortment of handhelds {Engadget}

So your posting to show that you are proud of your McJob? Personally I think it would be great to have a cradle to charge all my electronics and the lego DIY factor is a nice touch. Beats paying whatever a third party would want.
