Verizon takes another swing at AT&T, puts iPhone on the Island of Misfit Toys {Engadget Mobile}
Nov 8th 2009 9:27PM What's truly sad is when consumers who actually live in one of AT&T's strong 3G areas -- like the entire northeast -- buy into these commercials and choose Verizon instead, regardless of what the actual service comparison in their area might look like. But that's the power of advertising, I guess.
iPhone coming to The Shack: Dallas and NYC this month, nationwide in 2010? {Engadget Mobile}
Nov 7th 2009 7:25AM Not that it's going to be the case with the iPhone, but I've noticed Radioshack actually has better prices on phones than the company stores most of the time. They might have a crappy selection of some things but they're actually a good place to shop for phones. Besides, there are still a lot of people who like to actually hold and use a phone before they decide to buy it.
'About 50%' of Lego Rock Band team was against the game concept {Joystiq}
Nov 5th 2009 4:52PM If you're a "collector" type of gamer and you enjoyed Lego Star Wars for that reason, there's a fair amount of it in LRB as well.
Though, to be honest, I'm not liking the aspects of LRB that mimic all the ways the GH franchise has gone wrong: gimmicky challenges, renderings of real stars, etc.
But in spite of that, it still has all its tracks importable into RB2 and is well worth it for that reason alone.
Garmin EcoRoutes ESP module turns your GPS into car sentinel {Engadget}
Nov 5th 2009 4:40PM What Joshua did NOT point out is that Garmin and TomTom have been back on the rise since the announcement; nor did he point out that Google stock dropped the same day.
You shouldn't treat everything Engadget says as gospel.

Nov 5th 2009 10:38AM If Apple is "about to eat their lunch", how is it that the Curve actually REPLACED the iPhone as the world's best-selling smartphone?
Look. You're an iPhone fan; we get it. But you need to get over the fact that not everyone likes the same things you do. We don't all like typing on touchscreens. We don't all find the BB OS "archaic" (and how is it so? The UI has the same basic structure -- a basic info desktop and an expanded screen with an icon grid representing all your stuff -- that every other modern smartphone has). We like the BB's more robust email capabilities. And we simply don't all want iPhones. If it's not your cup of tea, that's fine, but don't go on about how they need to drastically change something that many, many people across the world already like.

Nov 5th 2009 10:25AM Does Engadget have some kind of a contract with Google where they have to mention their product twice in every GPS-related post? Enough with all the predictions of doom; Garmin has twenty years of experience in this market and still has a product that's dependable and feature-rich...plus not everyone wants their GPS to be built into their phone. Garmin will do just fine no matter how badly the Engadget staff wants them to sink.
BlackBerry Bold 9700 hands-on and impressions {Engadget}
Nov 5th 2009 1:17AM There are only two models Engadget has been posting about frequently over the past few months: this one and the Storm 2. Just because they post about BBs often doesn't mean all those posts are about different models.

Nov 5th 2009 1:16AM It's not just you: it's also every other Engadget commenter who doesn't pay attention.
Just because Engadget posts about new BlackBerry handsets often doesn't mean all those posts are about different models. Just about every post you've read for the past four or five months has been about only two models: this one and the Storm 2.
