We get the picture just fine. If I'm paying $13/month to play a game,I'm probably not going to play any other games during my limited free time, since I'd be "wasting" the $13/month. And what if I decide there's two games that charge monthly fee that I'd like to play?
It spirals out of control WAY too fast.
The only way I'd ever get hooked is if they gave me 6 months for free when I bought the game. Let me decide if it's still worth playing after those 6 months are over.

Look, if I never* watch anything live... Which I haven't since December, 1999, when I got my first DVR, why would I want to see something in the corner of the guide?! Half the time it's just spoiling some show I'm recording! At least let me turn it off if I want!

Apr 29th 2009 5:33PM Well, if they're adding MRV to the new HR2x devices, there's reason to believe that it should be available on the TiVos as well.
My guess is that they'll charge more per month as well.
But as long as the price isn't astronomical, I'll probably switch - I miss TiVo... :(

Apr 19th 2009 2:16PM Actually, that probably didn't help them at all. If you notice, there's a barcode that can be read on the disk while it's still in the package. I'm sure they have major automation to handle the return process. By putting two disks in one envelope, you're forcing them to have a human open it and scan it - slowing things down.
So you're doing them a favor. :)

That happens in the grocery stores as well -- if the company pays more money, it gets the good shelf space. If it doesn't pay the store as much, it gets the crappy shelf space. Look up "slotting fees":
