PowerGenix NiZn rechargeable AA batteries: finally, some cells worth buying {Engadget}
Nov 9th 2009 12:00PM Oh and what wedding photographer is using an SB-600? It's OK as a remote flash, maybe that is your problem.
PowerGenix NiZn rechargeable AA batteries: finally, some cells worth buying {Engadget}
Nov 9th 2009 11:57AM This is a strange review, it started out sounding like an advertisement or press materials. Who is this reviewer? I shoot weddings all the time, with a SB-900 as my main flash. I quote from the review "One of the major concerns with traditional NiMh rechargeables is just how weak they are, and just how quickly their longevity declines. With few exceptions, most of these cells can't actually power a dedicated hotshoe flash for more than a few minutes (if at all), and any application that demands a serious amount of power generally asks too much from these pricey tubes". Huh? I use regular energizer NIMH batteries for hundreds of flash shots before they need changing. What do you mean a few minutes, if you a burning through these batteries in a few minutes you are also melting your flash. Also with a proper charger that conditions the batteries they don't decline quickly.
I'm not saying these batteries aren't good, but the review is suspect. It starts out bashing batteries that flashes are designed for and work very well, then ends with saying how good of a price these new batteries are.
Spider Camera Holster system lands for retail (video) {Engadget}
Nov 2nd 2009 12:41PM I guess when a mainstream site tries to talk about something meant for pros there are always going to be a lot of ridiculous comments with no understanding at all about the subject. When you are using a camera that looks similar to what is pictured, you will understand the need for this.
Spider Camera Holster system lands for retail (video) {Engadget}
Nov 2nd 2009 9:31AM We most definitely do. I was probably one of the first to order one of these. My camera with lens and flash is about 7 pounds, it was killing me around my neck. The more you spend on a camera the tougher they are built, it's actually the opposite of what you are thinking. You worry less about a really expensive camera and lens.
27-inch iMacs having performance issues? {Engadget}
Oct 29th 2009 7:33PM Well Apple makes the hardware and OS, so either way it's their fault. I have no problems with Flash playback on my home built Windows 7 PC. I really have no problems with anything, it's works great.

Leaf announces new Aptus-II 22 megapixel camera back {Engadget}
Oct 22nd 2009 4:45PM This isn't for the same market as a Nikon or Canon. These are large format cameras, mostly used in studio modeling work and things like that. It's not something any normal consumer needs to worry about.
Naughty Dog's Evan Wells: Motion controls will 'live alongside' conventional games {Joystiq}
Oct 17th 2009 12:05AM I just got to Shambala, however that is spelled. I actually have to admit I don't think the Xbox 360 could do this, the graphics are ridiculous. It's not the systems power though that makes a game look like this, they have some amazing artist designing these levels.
New Super Mario Bros. Wii is 'pretty difficult' {Joystiq}
Oct 16th 2009 1:16PM If demo play lets Nintendo really make games harder than I'm going to love it. All their games have been really easy in the past few years. I really didn't care for Mario Galaxy all that much because I never felt a real challenge.
Nikon D3S is officially official, bringing its ISO extremes in late November {Engadget}
Oct 14th 2009 12:40AM This camera is meant for professional photographers. That is why you do not understand why a 12mp camera cost $5000. I would take this camera over anything else out there right now as a wedding photographer. There is really nothing better for that business, now a D700s would be nice as well.
