Apple TV update 2.3 released {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Nov 19th 2008 11:00PM Nothing useful there. Meanwhile, Boxee makes my AppleTV what it should be, a full-on media viewer. I'll wait at least for an update to Boxee, which thankfully is a cinch to install. But perhaps apple would consider supporting its functionality some day.

LogMeIn Ignition promises remote screen sharing from iPhone {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Oct 29th 2008 4:06PM Excellent. I use LogMeIn at home and work, if no other reason because it just works. No configuration needed, it finds its ways through firewalls and proxies. Works great in a web browser. So of course I'd love to use it from my iphone as well.

Fanswag: SimCity Creator {Nintendo Wii Fanboy}

Oct 23rd 2008 8:19PM Good ol' earthquakes for me.

Whither the Mac mini? {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Oct 21st 2008 2:45PM It better just be getting upgraded or at least replaced.
Home users that like to choose their own screen have no other choice but a insanely overboard Mac Pro.
After 2.5 years, I've had no regrets at all "downgrading" from a previously high end G4 to a mini, which still has plenty of power for desktop and photo apps.
But perhaps they are taking advantage of the smaller macpro motherboards to make a smaller mac mini.

OLO's iPhone-powered Laptop {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Oct 14th 2008 1:52PM Spectacular idea. That is EXACTLY what I would want, perfect for couch surfing.
Too bad apple would never allow it.

Blast from the Past: Lunatic Fringe {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Oct 3rd 2008 9:31PM Awesome. This was the real reason why keyboards had caps lock keys!

I too wish someone would port the original AD modules. Bungie Jumping Cows.... B&W toasters... much more fun than putting your computer to sleep!

Lightsaber Unleashed returns to the App Store, with ads and dialogue {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Sep 27th 2008 1:47PM I too would like to know how to prevent itunes/iphone app store from nagging you to update a particular app.

I gave up and updated. So now I'd also like to know hot to revert it (and keep away the update nags).

First Look: WordPress {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Jul 22nd 2008 10:08AM This is what I was waiting for, if only it weren't buggy.
I've run a photo moblog, using a cludgy MMS to email plugin method of posting, which I would later log in and clean up. Now I can make posts and include photos very easily.

However my other blog isn't working for some reason. The WP app just shows the data refresh wheel spinning to the right continuously, and never stops or lets me access it. Sometimes it eventually crashes.

Both blogs are running 2.6.

Hopefully they can soon fix bugs, and add some comment tools.

An Introduction to Apple Certification {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Jun 12th 2008 3:44PM I must admit the Hardware certs are tough, especially when you start, and walk into a 3rd party facility and try to take the test without any materials. They are designed to use all of the available service manuals (and therefore re-certifications are simply just a lot of quick research), but you don't have any of that on your first exam. Despite knowing macs inside and out like the back of my hand, I just barely passed. One of the crazy ones was what was the part number of the motherboard of some G3 tower that was at the time several years old. There are some questions on the other end of the spectum as well, but the best advice is to really learn the just-before-current generation of macs very well...scour the service manuals if you've been given them.

Totus Copy, for your dying hard drive {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

May 27th 2008 1:29PM What about software solutions for drives that don't mount in the OS?
