Engadget HD Podcast 082 - 04.23.2008 {Engadget HD}
Apr 25th 2008 10:02AM Ben,
What do you think of that Samsung LCD? I was at the Circuit City in Midtown Manhattan yesterday and they were showing Transformers on HD DVD on a 50" (I think it was 50") Samsung 6 Series LCD. There was a large crowd just staring at the screen-- it looked amazing.
I asked if it was plasma and the salesperson said it was the new 6 Series and it was 120HZ, which is why it looked like plasma. Is this 120Hz BS or is it for real? I thought it might be their set up. They had Spider Man on BR playing as well and it wasn't nearly as impressive.

Republican lawmakers say Google "gamed" 700Mhz auction {Engadget}
Apr 16th 2008 5:00PM They absolutely gamed the system. They hired mathematicians with expertise in game theory. All the carriers do. If you are not prepared to deal with the results of an auction, don't do auctions.
Don't hate the player, hate the game.
Xbox 360 with Blu-ray to spark price war with Sony PS3? {Engadget HD}
Apr 2nd 2008 10:40AM I'd personally love this. Right now I contemplating buying a PS3 for Blu-Ray only. If 360 got Blu-Ray, I'd just buy a second xbox and move the current one to the bedroom. I really don't want to have another gaming machine in my house.
Ask Engadget HD: Does Blu-ray show enough love to 720p HDTV owners? {Engadget HD}
Feb 27th 2008 12:48PM I have a 720P TV and HD DVD. I presume that the same will apply to Blu-Ray. HD DVD is clearly much better than DVD on 720P. Any one can notice-- it doesn't take an videophile. However, the question is always how much better would you be willing to pay. The only Blu-Ray player I would buy now is the PS3 and it's $399. I don't think the step up in quality is worth an extra $399. I'll jump in when the price point is around $150.
Ask Engadget HD: Is it finally safe to buy a Blu-ray player? {Engadget HD}
Feb 13th 2008 1:02PM It's only safe to buy a PS3. It's the only player that you can be confident will get all future upgrades. I'm holding off until there is a real IR solution.
Xbox 360 HD DVD player now officially $129.99 {Engadget}
Feb 6th 2008 4:28PM It works exactly the same as the regular 360 drive for DVDs. I like it because I can keep kids DVDs in the add-on without having to take out (and potentially scratch) my games.

Dec 14th 2007 10:48AM I also think this is a supply issue. I had the hardest time finding a copy of GH III with the wireless controller. I had to keep calling my local FYE. Then the copy I got was broken!
I understand Rock Band is great, but I just ain't going to add more wires and a USB Hub to the living room. Call me when you're wireless.
