Can Lindsay Lohan Pull Off Stevie Nicks? {Cinematical}

Nov 30th 2006 1:33PM It is worth mentioning that Lohan does a credible cover of "Edge of Seventeen" on her last CD, if they are looking for people who can sing a bit. This was music that Lohan listened to growing up.

Friends producer trashes current sitcom scene {TV Squad}

Nov 28th 2006 2:39PM At least none of the sitcoms currently on the air are so desperate that they have added a monkey to the cast.

The most necessary bumper sticker for conscious folk {Autoblog Green}

Nov 28th 2006 2:02PM This brings up the question, what is the most necessary bumper sticker for unconscious folk?

(Personally, I would have used the word conscientious, because I am obsessed with avoiding misinterpretation.)

Screw the hiatus, bring back Lost now {TV Squad}

Nov 24th 2006 6:06PM There are millions of people who are travelling during Thanksgiving week, or who have visitors, and thus have better things to do than watch TV. Ratings on Thanksgiving eve are normally lower than the average Wednesday.

Perhaps TV Squad writers (whose job it is to be obessed with television) should watch some DVDs or something from the end of sweeps until January, so as to avoid too many complaints about the lack of interesting programming in December weeks as well.

Campbell's low-sodium soup uses sea salt instead {That's Fit}

Nov 17th 2006 8:37AM To me, it is still much more useful to know that the FDA
recommends that people consume less than 2,300 milligrams of sodium per day (people with high blood pressure, blacks, and older adults should consume less than 1,500 milligrams of sodium per day).

Just because I eat five "healthy" items a day doesn't mean I am not exceeding recommended salt levels...they are just figuring that 500 milligrams per meal works out OK, or something like that.

Gourmet pizza for those on a diet {That's Fit}

Nov 12th 2006 1:15PM I've tried these and they are good...but not great, as the crust is very disappointing. I would also point out, though, that this is the only place I've ever found a low-salt barbeque chicken pizza. Low-salt is probably not the right word, exactly, but compare the salt here to the massive quantities in one of those yummy California Pizza Kitchen barbeque chicken pizzas and you'll be amazed.

Want world peace? {Slashfood}

Nov 7th 2006 3:45PM Bacon is also high in salt. Salt is bad for high blood pressure, and most people will have high blood pressure at some point in their lives. And hypertension has many bad side effects as those ED commercials are all too willing to point out. So bacon could ruin your sex life.

(And when I say high in salt, I mean that when I order a bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich at McD, it includes my recommended salt allowance for the entire day.)

Product Recall: Flashing pacifiers {ParentDish}

Nov 3rd 2006 12:38PM I have seen these on eBay for years...it would be so easy to make these such that they were safe for young children, it is a shame that they did not do so.

Go green stylishly with one of Schwinn's new electric bikes {That's Fit}

Oct 23rd 2006 5:03PM I'd like to see the list prices for these bikes...they look nice, but I don't see any prices anywhere.

Jasons gets into Six Flags for free today! {ParentDish}

Oct 13th 2006 2:43PM Just to state the obvious...the guy in the hockey mask in the popular "Friday the 13th" series of horror movies was named Jason. Hence the free admission for people so named.

(I just wanted to fill in the missing information for people who are reading this blog on other planets. I mean, the Washington Post still feels the need to explain what an iPod is whenever they report Apple news, so (similarly) I don't want to assume anything about the cultural background or poor movie tastes of your readers.)
