Murder charge dropped for PS3 suspect shooter, paperwork blamed {Engadget}
Dec 13th 2006 3:35PM I live in NC, and everyone seems to have the facts wrong about this one. Here it is in a nutshell. This guy and 2 of his friends robbed some innocent person at gunpoint for 2 PS3s. The officers were at the house to serve a warrant, 2 at the door and 3 more at the side of the house. They were considered to be armed and dangerous. When they rammed the door with the battering ram, the other police officers thought that this was gunfire and began firing in the house. One bullet went through the door to the bedroom where this kid was sleeping and killed him.
Now the other 2 kids were arrested on yesterday and the 2 PS3's were recovered at the time of the shooting. Also 2 automatic weapons and 1 handgun were recovered, so they were armed and dangerous. So the officer was negligent, hence being fired, but he didn't commit murder. More like a mistake, but being law enforcement he wont be charged with anything.
So sad yes, but he wont be getting any of my sympathy.

Dec 6th 2006 11:43AM Pppleeeaseee...... why does Sony get a pass for everything, and Microsoft, when they finally get it right, still get critized? I mean every company that has an HDTV product knows these issues with no early standardization in HD resolutions and dont leave the early adopters out in the cold. I brought my HD set in 2002 and guess what? It's a Sony. It accepts all the resolutions, but through the brilliance that is Sony, it doesn't upconvert 720p it downconverts it to 480p. So Sony itself is leaving it's own early adopters out in the cold.

Aug 10th 2006 4:30PM Time Warner Cable here in Raleigh-Durham carries FoxHD. Watched all the games in HD on fox last year.
