Uhm, if you weren't such an ignorant prat, I'd let this slide, but you ARE, so... Windows Mobile actually grew 60% faster than the market average in Q3 (Apple's world wide launch), and sold about 8 phones for every 10 iPhones. So it's actually "besides two".
Also worth pointing out: this includes a quarter where Blackberry had only a limited release of the Bold, and no Storm, nothing new from Nokia and no Android numbers.

Nov 28th 2008 1:52PM I don't think it's a matter of the employee having insurance or not.
WalMart is partly culpable as from the photos, they did NOTHING to manage the crowds outside, and there was even a sign on the wall that read "Blitz Line Starts Here". Not managing the crowd outdoors, and having that sign on the wall suggests that they were encouraging the 'door crasher' mentality.
They WANT customers to make the mad dash to such items, as the customer feels 'rewarded' for their feat.

Nov 28th 2008 1:39PM I agree, but WalMart should be held accountable as well. They clearly weren't prepared for a huge crowd, and should have enforced an orderly line well before hand. There was a sign up on their wall that said "Blitz Line Starts Here"

I'm sick and tired of hearing that kind of bull$#it. It's the same BS some used to say about 3D graphics in general, that it was just eye candy.
The truth of the matter is that some games DO benefit greatly from a more realistic and immersible environment (Dead Space, Resistance, GoW2), while others barely require 256 colour graphics to be addictive (N+, World of Goo)
This ties into 3rd party developers who don't make certain titles for the Wii. It is impossible for the Wii to deliver the atmosphere of something like Dead Space (insert GoW or Resistance or Fallout 3 if you wish), which is essential for the overall experience of the game.
Some designers take pride in that, and any fiscal benefits they may see from a wider distribution to another platform are far outweighed their desire to not water down what they consider essential to the title.
It's like shooting a movie on 35mm then downgrading it for YouTube distribution.
That 'fiscal benefit' is further reduced by Nintendo's aggressively 1st stance, which I don't think ANYONE can objectively deny. Compared to Sony and MS, Nintendo does very little for 3rd party developers.
Read enough developer interviews, and it becomes pretty clear that from many devs POV, it's a combination of things that keep them from hopping on the Wii bandwagon.
Reggie is full of crap when he says 'devs don't get it'. The point is they DO get it, and in many cases it's not worth it.

There's no point in editing in WM 6.1 when a similarly priced Windows netbook (EEE PC) allows me to hook my Diamond to it, and read the docs from my phone, edit in Windows, and save back to the phone, all the while allowing the phone to act as a 3G modem so I can actually use Firefox to browse.
EEE PC + WM 6.1 + PDA Net software is a portable work/media killer, especially with good 3G service.
