Steve Harris hints at the future of the reborn EGM {Joystiq}
Jul 5th 2009 4:58PM I wonder-- any chance the existing subscribers will get the new EGM?
Big Huge Games boss Brian Reynolds leaves, joins Zynga East {Joystiq}
Jun 30th 2009 4:20PM Of all the games available on the iPhone, I think the ones from Zynga are consistently above average... Scramble, Mafia Wars, Vampires Bloodlust. So having someone come from Big Huge Games, can only make a great company even better. It'd be interesting to see if Zynga ever expands to consoles.
Battlefield Heroes now open to the masses {Joystiq}
Jun 25th 2009 6:23PM I wanted to play this game, but could never get it to connect.
NBC announces fall premiere dates {TV Squad}
Jun 25th 2009 4:07PM Poor NBC. Out of all the shows listed, The Office is the only one I'm interested in watching. I think putting SNL "weekend" update on Thursday works during an election year, but makes little sense otherwise and only spreads SNL content even thinner for Saturday night.
I do have to admit, they started a new show during the summer, Merlin, which I didn't realize they offered and only discovered because of Hulu, that is actually pretty decent.

Ice Road Truckers iPhone app lets fans hit the frozen road {TV Squad}
Jun 25th 2009 1:22PM This game is horrible. I downloaded it last week because I'm a fan of the show, but you can tell it's a rushed effort and not that closely tied to the show, outside of 'driving on ice' which it doesn't do very well.
Analyst: PlayStation Motion Controller better for core gamers than Natal {Joystiq}
Jun 24th 2009 1:51PM If I'm not mistaken, Doug Creutz is the same person, who a couple of months ago said, [referring to the Sony PS3] “They’ve buried themselves so far behind both the Wii and Xbox 360 that even if they cut prices, there is no way they can catch up.”
Here's your new issue of EGM! It's called Maxim {Joystiq}
Jun 22nd 2009 10:22PM That's funny. I just renewed EGM right before it ceased operation. Was wondering if the subscription would be honored. Haven't seen Maxim show up yet, and I can wait to explain this to the rest of the family.
Kotick questions continued Activision support of Sony platforms [update] {Joystiq}
Jun 21st 2009 8:28PM I'm not inventing anything, just merely comparing the situation to what Warner Bros did when it came to ceasing support of HD DVD as it was gaining momentum, which pretty much caused other companies to drop support, and ultimately kill a platform.
So to reiterate, IF Activision were to drop support (like Warner Bros dropped support), it would be a major player using their influence and possibly reshaping the market.
Activision is basically pushing Sony. And they're doing it publically, which is interesting in itself. I have to imagine they could and probably would have mentioned this to Sony behind closed doors.
If you want to draw conclusions that I'm for or against the situation or am manufacturing something that isn't there, then go ahead. That has never been my point.

Jun 21st 2009 8:12PM There was some guy that used to take photos of models with large triangles or cones covering their faces or top portion of their body. His name escapes me, but he was in some documentary on HBO. Was like either in the late 80s or early 90s in New York-- probably around the whole triangle/paint splatter art phase. Anyway, I've seen this before...
