This just in: California 'cool car' law may hose your iPhone reception {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Oct 13th 2009 3:06PM "That car was only 58hp and weighed a scant 2200 pounds. Granted it could hardly get out of its own way but it got 40mph"

Or the Ford Escort, Tempo, etc that also got 40 MPG.

Oct 13th 2009 11:55AM "2. our economy is, what, the 7th largest on the planet? No need to trade us, we can just make a go at it on our own. We'd like to take Oregon and Washington with us though."

Go for it. Don't let the door hit you where the Good Lord Split You. Without Hollywood (which would slowly dry up as it's now a foreign country) your economy will tank.

You can have Washington and Microsoft but we get Apple from you.

We can keep Oregon with Nike.

Review: 2010 Ford Flex EcoBoost turns it up to 11 {Autoblog}

Oct 12th 2009 1:59PM I Love it. Looks great in a retro box sort of way. And while it won't out handle my G35 sedan, the performance with the EcoBoost is right up there with it in a straight line.

Just need to hold off till April until the last credit card is paid off.

VMware Fusion 3 supercharged for Snow Leopard {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Oct 6th 2009 10:31AM I'll take the $0 option of Virtual Box, thanks.

Tried Parallels and it was cool, but not $70 Cool.
VMware is the same.

VirtualBox is FREE.

10.6 falsely reports 'service battery?' ... I think not {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Sep 24th 2009 7:55AM Lots of bad advice there. LiIon and LiPolymer batteries need a different method of caring for them. Basically, you want to keep them topped off. Use it every once and a while, maybe drain it once a month or 2 and you will be set.

Here's some much better information:

Push for Gmail: it's here, it works, and it's limited {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Sep 22nd 2009 4:18PM Exchange is not the only one that has this.

IMAP supports it via IDLE
Lotus Notes supports it
Blackberries have supported it forever.

Exchange is probably the worst example as it's a POS on all accounts.

REPORT: Ford Transit Connect arriving in U.S. with full interiors that get stripped to comply with "Chicken Law" {Autoblog}

Sep 22nd 2009 3:08PM Simple - they had no idea if this would sell at all and at what numbers. Cheaper to start with a factory that is already making them and ship 'em here. If it sells well, they'll bring it here. If not, the loss is less since you're not figuring out what to do with the workers.

Why is consumer credit down a whopping $21.6 billion? {BloggingStocks}

Sep 9th 2009 11:03AM Why should rates come down? Why is it a bad thing to not have credit card debts?

We're about 6 months away from having no credit card debt. We've been paying on it for the past 2 years and working it down. That's a good thing for us and will let us make more purchases of things later.

A low rate won't entice me as I want out of it. A low rate is not smart especially when it goes up later on.

Spending beyond your means is not smart and got us in most of this mess to begin with. And guess what? We got smart and are getting out of it.

Cut my limit from $25k - that's fine. Up my rate. I'll cancel and move the balance for 6 months until it's paid off.

REPORT: Dodge Sprinter sales to cease as Mercedes opts to sell model itself with new diesel {Autoblog}

Sep 2nd 2009 12:18PM "In the US the Mercedes brand has long been luxury cars and only luxury cars."

Mercedes also did box delivery trucks back in the late 80's/early 90's.
