Ask TUAW: Picking boot OS, RF remotes with Front Row, Finder view options and more {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Dec 11th 2007 10:27AM Thanks for answering my question Mat! I was able to find the Keyspan RF Front Row remote on eBay for only $8.39 after shipping. NICE

Leopard love: Quick Look works on files in the Trash {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Dec 7th 2007 10:37AM One month into Leopard and I can't remember how I ever lived without Quicklook. The only application I use more on a minute to minute basis is Quicksilver. Quicklook and Quicksilver let me do the things I need to quicker than ever before. I hate getting on a mac now that doesn't have the two. And when I'm at school and have to use the PC's for my programming classes...it's painful.

Ask TUAW: Scanning bills, migrating, iWOW, Cover Flowing and more {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Dec 2nd 2007 6:22PM Thank you all for your suggestions!

From the reviews I read, the IR extenders don't work to well, and the way my office is set up, there isn't really a place with a direct line of sight to my macbooks IR receiver to put it.

As for the Wiimote idea, that might be my best option at this point. I'll wait and see if I get any other replies or if TUAW answers my question next week before I buy one :)

Ask TUAW: Scanning bills, migrating, iWOW, Cover Flowing and more {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Dec 2nd 2007 9:46AM I have my macbook located in the office and my HDTV located in the living room. I drilled a hole between the wall that separates the two and ran an HDMI and optical audio cable through in order to view my media on the HDTV using Frontrow. Trouble is, the standard apple remote won't pass through the wall, so I either have to run back and forth to change songs and movies, or use my clunky bluetooth keyboard in the living room. Are there any options to extend the range? If not, is there a bluetooth or wireless usb remote that will work with front row?

More rumors about iTunes movie rentals {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Sep 13th 2007 9:40PM If the movies were in HD I would rent EXCLUSIVELY from iTunes. I can't believe it's 2007 and there still isn't an online high def rental system in place (no, I don't count the XBox Live HD service because there are only a handful of movies available). If Steve Jobs can get all the movie companies together to offer ALL there movies in high def on iTunes, it will revolutionize everything.

TUAW Back-to-School Giveaway Day Ten: iPod nano {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Aug 24th 2007 11:23AM I'm a student and would love to have a silver nano! (but I will take any color you have!)

Ask TUAW: Call for Questions {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Jan 7th 2007 3:59PM Ask TUAW:

Hi, I have been preparing to make the full switch-over to Apple for a few months now. I am patiently waiting for the MacWorld Expo before I go out and purchase a Macbook Pro (In case Steve introduces something twice as good at the same price). My question is this: what is TUAW's favorite bluetooth mouse (and keyboard if you have a favorite) for the Mac OTHER than the mighty mouse. The mighty mouse's side buttons are difficult for me to press and I want something that conforms to my hand (I'm right-handed. Also, a dedicated right-click button would be nice. Thanks!

One last thing...Any recommendation for bluetooth headphones to listen to music around my room?

Panasonic Taiwan to stop CRT TV production in 2-3 years {Engadget HD}

Aug 1st 2006 1:48PM "Well, who doesn't want a flat panel besides chaps that can't afford 'em. Not many people would turn down purchasing a thin and sexy flat panel if it was the same price as the big 'ol CRT."

Unless having a large screen is absolutely essential, the picture quality of a CRT trounces any LCD and is still slightly better than plasma. LCD's can't touch the richness of color or the deepness of blacks achieved by CRT's. I am more than capable financially to afford a large flat panel LCD set, but I will gladly keep my 34" Sony XBR tube until they come out with something that can match it.
