TiVo quietly removes Series3 from its webstore {Engadget}

Jul 30th 2008 10:07AM It wouldn't matter. TiVo never bothered to update the code on the S3 to support multi-stream cards. The hardware is all there, but no software. Now I wonder if it'll ever happen. I guess the HD will be the only one that supports multi-stream cards.

Redesign giveaway: HTC's new Shift UMPC {Engadget}

Apr 10th 2008 6:54PM All sorts of things.

Win a Philips 42PFL5603D 42-inch 1080p HDTV! {Engadget HD}

Feb 5th 2008 7:33PM I'm in. 42" seems a bit small, but I'll live somehow. :D

Microsoft's files Zune patent for "automatic delivery of personal content" {Engadget}

Sep 25th 2007 11:07AM How the hell does this patent not fail the obviousness test? I can already download personalized content from my local media library to my player via USB. Adding WiFi and an off site server it's just obvious, it's stupidly obvious.

NFL Network cries to the FCC {Engadget HD}

Sep 21st 2007 5:17PM As much as I hate to side with the NFL Network on this (since I don't care one bit about football), Comcast should have to treat it's own properties the same as ones they don't own. So if Comcast wants to move all their sports channels to the sports tier, then NFL has nothing to complain about. But if Comcast is leveraging a vertical monopoly to stifle competition, then there is a problem.

iPhone unlocks go on sale... and why don't we care? {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Sep 10th 2007 6:37PM I live in an area that T-mobile doesn't service, and since the government definition of "competition" is pretty much a joke, that leaves AT&T as the only GSM player in my area. Not much sense in paying $100 to unlock a phone when I have no choice of another GSM vendor.

TV out locked in new iPod classic and nano {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Sep 9th 2007 8:33PM BTW, one of the apparently "unoffical" accessories that doesn't work anymore, the Sonic Impact V-55, is for sale ON THE FRIGGIN APPLE WEB SITE.

I'm definitely not buying another iPod until either this is addressed or the Touch comes in 160gb. In the meantime, I'll either crack open my 5G and put in a new drive or buy an Archos 605, which is what the Touch should have been.
