Jul 10th 2009 11:51PM Not too fantastic when no money is being made. Remember movie studios are in business to make money. They are not making much on Digital Downloads. Investors are beginning to get nervous and will not wait until 2015. They live in the now and will get bored and move on to something else (the next best thing??)

Jul 8th 2009 1:04PM Actually Sweet Greggo when you factor in the cost of the film production into the home video and download cost it would boost download prices back up to around the price of a disc. Dont forget that many studios use home video to pay for production costs of the films they produce. $3 films dont pay the bills.

Also it is very easy to pirate a video stream. If it is being sent to you and being processed by your computer a program can be written to copy. This may take time to do but someone always comes up with a way around it. (unfortunately for the the studios and people like me who invest in the studios)
These digital media are supposed to come into play in 2015 by some accounts and investors will tire of waiting till then and have moved on by that date.

Jun 24th 2009 9:52PM 20 percent stream?? I wonder what they consider a streamer?? I have streamed 2 shows from Netflix and thought the quality was crap. Am I included in the 20 percent? There are probably many like me that have been there done that and moved on to other means (Blu Ray).
Maybe if you stream anything even if its only once you are included in the 20 percent?

Analysts will get bored before the 4-9 years have past and move on to something else. What will netflix do then with lower stock price??
Do you think that the movie studios and pay channels like HBO who have contracts with the studios are going to let netflix take over as the #1 way to watch movies at home? Don't count on it!

Jun 20th 2009 7:35AM BTW... This study says plan to purchase this year, not plan to ever purchase. It also says 7% were interested. 7% of the US population is 21 million, correct? Well that's a lot of players to sell for this year. If 21 million players sell this year during this economic slowdown, that would be considered a runaway success.
So although 7% may sound like very little to the naysayers its not when you use real #'s.

May 12th 2009 11:12PM Gee Squiggleslash, the last plane I flew on to London had a projection system in the front of the section. Maybe they are using this for that type of setup???
Much better than those overheating lose everything hard drives!
