Dec 2nd 2008 11:20AM That's right. Fring is on the App-Store, but you can't use it's VoIP function on the touch cos the iPod has no mic.
And till now, to use a mic, you need to jailbreak the Pod (mic hack).
So maybe the included mic in the new buds might be a hint to a new firmware.
Would be silly to produce a couple of new headphones inc. mic and limit the use just to the iPhone users.
Name me a good reason to buy expensive Apple Buds for myPod or myPhone and pay for a useless mic. as well, if I can get a pair of nice Koss Buds for the same price and probably better sound qual.
There must be a better explanation then a bad concept for the mic in the new Apple Headphones.

Dec 2nd 2008 10:15AM Maybe they come up with a firmware update making the use of a mic ( + software (fring or somin similar)) available to the iPod touch.
Would be sweet to have VoIP on the touch without jailbreaking it.
