PS3 Motion Controller launching in March? {Engadget}

"SCEA has a specific PSP deck which they can send up with their hardware director for a chat".

O rly?

What would require a director to accompany it? New hardware versions AGAIN?

I remember buying a PSP - I think it's in a drawer somewhere... I want a PS3P....

Spotify launches on iTunes App Store and Android Market, premium members only {Engadget}

Sep 7th 2009 6:11AM Biggest problem - no offline sync via 3g. I'm signed up for a month. Not sure yet if I'll extend it - the catalogue has big holes, and latest releases are behind iTunes. Also, the Spotify homepage is very poor - I use iTunes to find new music, then source it on Spotify.

Great free app - not so sure if it runs £10/month good though, despite the incredible number of ads on the free service now. For my money, needs to be half the price with better music industry support. Otherwise, Spotify=fail.

I still think the instant nature of the streaming over wifi is amazing - and the same goes for syncing from Mac to iPhone - you add it on the computer, it starts syncing instantly on the app. Impressive.

3D TV channel coming to UK next year, 3D-ready set and glasses required {Engadget HD}

Jul 31st 2009 3:24AM Many projectors on the market can/will support 3d via firmware upgrades.

Frankly, I think a projector is essential for 3d - the illusion is ruined any time an object hits the frame in 3d, and with a 3d TV, that happens all the time. I'm going to go out on a very shor wt limb here and say this will never be mainstream. After all, it's had about 50 years to take over in cinema.

Sky ARE serious about this however - considerable time and staff have already been committed for over 18 months.

1080p / 60 fps production confirmed for ESPN's new L.A. studio {Engadget HD}

May 5th 2009 11:33PM It's also the case that Sky TV's in the UK's new studio facilities (online next year) will be 1080p50, the European equivalent. They see this as futureproofing the facility, as well as allowing for 3D requirements...

Sky suggests UK homes could see 3D TV by the end of the year {Engadget}

Mar 9th 2009 8:13PM Hi guys.

Nice chap, Chris Johns. Sky have worked hard to get 3D going, and their committed to new technology like pretty much no other broadcaster worldwide - fact.

Interesting chats I've had recently suggest Sky intends to be regularly broadcasting in 3D by 2013. You might draw your own conclusions about London 2012 from that - but Sky has no direct involvement in Olympic broadcasting thanks to the 'crown jewels' protected sports broadcasting list in the UK, which prohibits a pay-TV operator from buying Olympic rights.

Right now, Sky are in the middle of building a new sports broadcast building for £200m. Expect this to be a key part of their moves towards HD....

UMID M1 gets official, handled on video {Engadget}

Feb 23rd 2009 5:04AM I can't wait to run OSX on this.

Still, I guess under OSX I won't be able to use the TV tuner, WiMax connection etc. etc.

Jesus - this thing may well be the future. I can't quite believe all the specs.

Video: Engadget CES trailer tour! {Engadget}

Jan 11th 2009 2:47PM Hmmm. I work in outside broadcast, and our double-or-triple-wide trailers are full of actual TECH.

Next time one of you is in the UK, I'll organise a tour of the largest OB unit in Europe. HD goodness all round.

Next time, why not just rent a tent, and spend the rest on booze?
