Philips GoGear -- now in glorious color! {Engadget}
Oct 30th 2008 5:42AM Philips makes some nice GoGears-I own a video playing model (SA3115) myself.
I think they've done a good job on adding a color screen version of their square type player.
I've seen a 1GB model of this square shaped player for about AUD$48, plus their earbuds are very nice.
The software used for video conversion or firmware update (Philips Media manager/Device manager) is Windows-only though.

The strange economy of the App Store {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Jul 31st 2008 6:47PM $99 A year just to host free apps-goes against the definition of freeware-a unusual business method by Apple.
But paid apps are worth the $99 hosting fee.
