PSN Thursday: The time for Trine {Joystiq}

Oct 22nd 2009 8:42PM What is Armored Core 3 Portable!? Why haven't I heard of it... if it's a true AC game and not the formula front style game I'll buy now, but I can't recall seeing or hearing any news on this...

Any feedback or reviews on this?

Aug 28th 2009 3:44PM Warhammer: Mark of Chaos was an okay RTS and associated expansion set in the WH Fantasy realm. Reviews were okay to meh, but it's well worth picking up for $20.

Jul 9th 2009 10:44AM Amazon.com has this for $12 that makes the startup cost pretty low, I'm guessing the monthly is still $15?

Killzone developer says PS3 dev easier than PS2 {Joystiq}

Apr 3rd 2009 4:34PM Makes perfect sense if you've followed the industry.

The PS2 was always generally regarded as difficult to develop for and was historically one of the flaws of the otherwise successful console. Going into this current cycle it was one of the things that MS was sure to play up and one of the (very few) shortcomings that Sony acknowledged and attempted to address early on in announcements regarding the PS3 by marching out Unreal Engine Devs (for UT3?) on stage to say that the PS3 was easy to program for and get the UE running on.

Yes there's a layer of opinion added to this along with the fact that they had good help but I think ultimately Sony has seen that making their console easy to develop for is a big key and something they worked for on the PS3 and should hopefully emphasize in future gaming ventures now that we all get to enjoy the solid competition from MS and Nint.

NY strikes again with another video game bill {Joystiq}

Feb 5th 2009 12:37PM Your comment is dead on and I did take note of the post you reference, but I still think that this bill would accomplish nothing but to waste time and money for the same end result:

- Costs, who picks up the costs of administering the tests and verification?
- Methods, as another poster said a game can play out in so many different ways, how do you test it, the answer if you can't make a firm determination the way that you can a movie.

In the end then you've spent large amounts of tax payer money, enforced a whole new level of costs and processes on a specefic industry, all for the result of games being labeled with "May or could induce siezure" etc... which is what we already have today.

In the end though I do try not to assume that people are "just out to attack my beloved video games" and hope that there's more to this story than I've seen...

Sony: 'We are on track' with PS3 sales {Joystiq}

Jan 30th 2009 10:33AM It's good to remember that a product, say the PS3 or PSP, doesn't necessarily have to be #1 in competition to be a financial success for a company, and I think it's a safe bet that although neither of these systems will outpace their competition neither of them are anywhere near being "financial/investment failures".

Again, the competition between MS, Sony, and Nint is good for us as gamers, it keeps them working hard to keep us happy and likely means an alternating lead between them in each generation.

Only when one system is left are we screwed.....

Molyneux asks for special review consideration; we ask 'what would other industries do?' {Joystiq}

Oct 7th 2008 5:41PM I'm going to thoroughly enjoy this either way I suspect, along with LBP, Socom, Fallout, and Motorstorm (of course it'll take months to enjoy all of these completely...)
