Nov 10th 2009 9:23AM The key to the future of the mDP is in smaller devices just like the mini-USB has (finally) caught on. That's likely the main reason why Apple developed and is pushing it (since the standard Display Port isn't limiting on larger devices like laptops). Sticking an HDMI port onto a phone would be clumsy and take up too much space. The ZuneHD can output to HDMI but only when connected through the ZuneHD dock. If the ZuneHD had a mDP and a mDP-HDMI cable, there would be no need for the dock (one less thing to buy/forget to have with you).

Nov 9th 2009 5:31PM Ummm.... icon sizes are controllable. In the finder view, you can also pinch gesture to vary the icons. In the dock, you can change prefs to alter the icon sizes too. Not sure what you mean my multiple menu bars. Yes, OSX only shows the menu for the active application, but why would you want to see the bar of a background application - that would waste screen real estate?

Nov 9th 2009 5:25PM With the exception of the Guest Login bug (which did not apply to many people), these fixes are minor - so minor, it could have been termed 10.6.1.1 (except that would screw up one of the Jobs Commandments - thou shalt not useth one hundreth when you can useth one tenth excepteth when it cometh to AppleTVeth.
