Belkin kills the FlyWire -- does wireless HD / HDMI even have a chance? {Engadget}

Jul 17th 2009 4:21PM I have mentioned this a number of times before but the Avocent MPX 1500 series is fully HDMI / HDCP compliant, goes point to multipoint (currently 1 to 8 but expandale via acess points) and has the added advantage of being able to run as a wired solution also. Unfortunately Avocent has a marketing department that seems to think the "if we ignore our customers they will go away" strategy is the proper way to stay in business.

Right Wing Slams Barack Obama For Ordering Pizza. Really. {Politics Daily}

Apr 11th 2009 10:15PM Here is another little fact that didn't make your list:

"When you're the president of the United States, only the best pizza will do - even if that means flying a chef 860 miles.

Chris Sommers, 33, jetted into Washington from St Louis, Missouri, on Thursday with a suitcase of dough, cheese and pans to to prepare food for the Obamas and their staff.

He had apparently been handpicked after the President had tasted his pizzas on the campaign trail last autumn."

Was actually written by The Daily Mail

and Jack M. was responding to that story, not creating a scandal out of whole cloth as you imply.

Avocent's MPX1550 wireless HD video extender supports higher bit rates {Engadget HD}

Jan 21st 2009 6:21PM I worked on this project. The 1550 does support audio through the DVI -HDMI connector. It is also HDCP compliant. As far as ghostdoogie's complain, every wireless HD device out there has some form of STB. Samsung and others have said they will integrate receivers into their TVs but guess what - There are no transmitters to support them.

AMIMON ships 100,000th WHDI wireless chipset {Engadget HD}

Dec 9th 2008 12:24PM I call shenanigans.

Can you name a product that is actually using WHDI? It may be that Amimon has embedded receivers on TVs but without a working transmitter thats a moot point and there seems to be a problem there, as evidenced by the continual slipping of the Belkin Flywire ship date.

Belkin delays FlyWire Wireless HD box yet again {Engadget}

The Avocent MPX series is fully HDMI and HDCP compliant. I worked on the project and we made sure to jump through all the hoops.
