Dawdle.com not wasting time challenging GameStop's used sales {Joystiq}
Oct 9th 2008 9:34AM OMG they certainly raised prices. It used to be around 5%. Regardless tho, 8.75 is still less then 12%. (and its 3.25% after the first $25). 30 cents to list your item is not even .1% of your sale anyway, plus they have a 10 cent listing day every month or so.
Paypal may also have a % on it, but you cannot add that on as paypal is optional. I often sell stuff on ebay and people pay me with cash (local pickups) or electronic money transfers (which is the exact same as dawdle uses)
I just see no reason at all to use this site, when they are more expensive then ebay, which will get me much more views. If your jumping into a new site venture like this, they should be taking like 3%, much less then the competition, in order to convince me to use their service.

Oct 8th 2008 9:40PM 12%? ebay takes 5%. So why should I use this service, which is bound to net me LESS views when i list a game?
YouTube wants to sell you games {Joystiq}
Oct 8th 2008 7:37PM I doubt the people who make the videos will see any profit at all. I know for a fact my N+ and GTA4 videos have helped sell more then enough copies of the game(s), yet Im sure youtube would not consider letting me in on the profit.
So basically it goes like this,
-Awsome gamer uploads cool ass clip of game (lets just say halo 3 for example)
-Gamer2 sees said clip on youtube, thinks "OMFG IM BUYING THIS GAME" (this already happens)
- User sees they can buy the game right there by following the link after the video is done.
Youtube = profit, gamer who made cool video which convinced other to purchase game = no profit.
I think they should share the money with the owners of the videos, similar to the adsense program (shared money on advertising clicks)

Oct 8th 2008 9:50AM This game looks worse and worse every day. What a huge letdown. At least we get banjo kazooie and tooie on XBLA with hd resolution.

Oct 7th 2008 11:58PM when will the nintendo fans learn that the wii is being sold to casual non gamers who are buying it for wii sports ONLY. Its not the games that are selling the console.
They just got some wiis at my office (for the employees moral during breaks and lots and lots of people were asked if they had wiis. These are all regular folks too, mena nd women from 20 to 60. turns out a ton of them had wiis. I found more then 20 people with them who you would look at and never even think they would own a console (and probably never have in the past). When asked what games they all bought, the answer was the same all around, NONE. Aaround 90% just purchased the console and only play wii sports. The rest of the people bought guitar hero and/or wii fit. Out of over 200 employees, I only found one guy who actualy owned a wii and buys games for it (mario, resident evil, etc etc).
Nintendo is number one, and it has nothing at all to do with their games. The reason wii version games dont seell is exactly that. I mean a game like Gears of war comes out, its gonna sell 5+ million copies in a couple weeks. A game like mario comes out and it sells 1.5 million in a couple weeks. while still impressive, for a console with an even larger install base, it should be selling 5x as many copies.
/end useless internet rant that means nothing
Panasonic demoes WirelessHD transmission standard at CEATEC {Engadget HD}
Oct 2nd 2008 6:00PM is this nessecary at all? I mean the cost of a long display cable from monoprice can be bought for very cheap, much cheaper then the extra power this technology will probably use over time. And most people have their players and whathaveyou right next to their tvs regardless. Not to mention im sure there will be a primeium on this technology.

Sep 25th 2008 10:30PM "I hope people show a bit of respect for a man who has just lost his livelihood."
So when a Scam artest gets caught and fined $700 000 Im suppose to feel bad for him that hes lost his livly hood and cant support his family? Sorry but no. Same here. If a legitimate laywer lost his job then perhaps so, but this is a scumbag who made money by tricking people and putting on false blame. Im not gonna feel sorry for him because he lost his lively hood.
And really seriously, he was a rich famous lawyer, I doubt his job means anything to him in terms of finacial situations. Im sure hes got enough moeny to retire happily.
Plastic guitars, now for girls too (thanks, Aly & AJ!) {Joystiq}
Sep 24th 2008 10:33PM I like how they clasify them as gamers. I would hardly call people who play guitar hero once a week for an hour or 2 "gamers". A gamer is some1 who spends like 1+ hours a day playing games, and plays a wide varity of games from simple to complex. Seems nowadays people who have no idea what the difference between an xbox and ps3 are playing rockband and GH at a friends place and calling themselves gamers.
Banjo-Kazooie XBLA remake dated for Nov 26, sequel in 2009 [update] {Joystiq}
Sep 24th 2008 2:48PM It is nintendos fault. You havent been paying attention. Rare made goldenye XBLA, nintendo found out about it. Nintendo cant do anything directly, so they cried to activision, threatening to cut them off from the wii and ds (which would cost activision billions) unless they put a stop to XBLA. Rare says, ok we will give you goldenye for VC if we can still get a remake on XBLa. Nintendo says NO. So activision is forced to cut the game off to keep in good terms with nintendo.
So yeah, pretty much all nintendos fault.
