Jan 7th 2009 10:27AM I'm speculating that they create a new more expensive TurboHD tier to add these to, which will still be fine with me. I was looking to switch to TurboGold a night or so ago but was kinda disappointed they didn't have Spike (for me) and MTV (for my wife). Anything to get away from the ****hole that is TWC.
AT&T eying December launch of U-verse in Cary, NC? {Engadget HD}
Nov 21st 2008 8:56PM I commented in the last U-Verse post about the Cary area and all I can say is I hope the internet gods bring this to my neighborhood. AT&T spent what seemed like two months on property just outside the neighborhood at a collection of their boxes (looks like about 4-5 of them grouped together). They also dug up about 8-10 yards in the middle parts of the neighborhood but I didn't notice them going to the edge of the hood. Maybe these were repeaters or amps that were buried they had to get to or maybe they just had to beef up or replace some bundles that were down in the ground?
Either way, this can't come soon enough. I've been a TWC subscriber for 5+ years and never had much complaints about the TV and Internet service, only the price creep. But since we upgraded to HD service a couple months ago, we've been thoroughly disgusted. I would have already switched to satellite if it weren't for the U-Verse rumors. So, I'm holding out a little longer.

Nov 3rd 2008 6:38PM TWC subscriber here in Raleigh. Reading this is really infuriating. They get 30 "new" channels added to their list...we don't even have 30 channels total. Hopefully, they add the 20 they are claiming to be turning on early next year sooner rather than later. I've seen a ton of AT&T activity at the boxes outside my house. TWC better get their sh!# together soon or I'm switching to something.
AT&T U-Verse cabinets pop up in Winston-Salem, NC {Engadget HD}
Oct 3rd 2008 9:57AM I live in a neighborhood right on the edge of Apex and Cary near Hwy 55. For about 1 month now, AT&T has been digging holes in neighbors yards and I see their utility vans sitting at an array of boxes just outside the neighborhood every day. I'm not sure if they dropped a new one in or not, but I get the feeling something is coming here. I'm ready to dump TWC, their HD box is just horrendous (never had trouble with the non hd digital service). Would be nice to hear from AT&T on when they will bring it, otherwise I'm just going to get satellite.
