The software was designed to work on any Vista Media Center and we haven't had any users seeing the issue you did. Please post any issues you have in the Niveus forum and Niveus staff and users can get back and try to support you with it.
After your post we had some additional folks double check, and the Search Build posted on the forum definitely works on non-Niveus systems. Thanks.

The build is for 60 days for both Niveus and non-Niveus systems. Per the forum and the Niveus press release, Niveus will release additional builds prior to the expiration.
