Mitsubishi affirms that LaserVue HDTV production is back on {Engadget HD}

Mar 24th 2009 10:13PM If Mitsubishi wants to sell a lot of these, they would price them around $5K.
Also, I'd prefer if they were under 7" deep.

Pioneer outlines KURO plasma exit, insinuates that you should buy one now {Engadget HD}

Mar 24th 2009 8:44PM Yes, the Kuro was the best flatscreen ever made, but the one thing they'll leave us with is the memory of $7K for a 60".

If they sold these for $4K, they would have ruled the market and could have still been in the TV business!

Denon's AVR-1909 AV receiver gets reviewed, not for the faint of heart {Engadget HD}

Jan 23rd 2009 1:10PM I have a Denon 1909. The unit is tweaked, and now I only use the volume buttons on the remote while watching perfect 1080p and listening to any loss less soundtrack from my bluray discs.

Samsung to launch 1.5-inch thin Blu-ray player at CES {Engadget HD}

Dec 5th 2008 10:06PM After buying the Transformers Blu-ray for $10 last weekend, and now reading this article, I'm hoping that this will be the future street price of all Blu-ray discs.

Thanks to Black Friday sales, Blu-ray players should outpace the CEA's expectations {Engadget HD}

Dec 5th 2008 9:56PM I am interested in buying a Panasonic DMP-BD35K or Sony BDP-S350. But since they're still not as fast as the Sony PS3, I'm holding out for the street price of these models to drop even further. Maybe after Christmas, or even in January, if the price drops to $200. Alternatively, if the price doesn't drop before the next models are announced, I may just wait to see how the new models are improved.

Canon cleared to resume work on SED TV (now that the world doesn't care) {Engadget HD}

Dec 2nd 2008 7:04PM Currently, Plasma has the best picture and tech.
Compared to LCD, Plasma has better blacks, a full viewing angle while LCD is about 30 degrees, and 480Hz while LCD's best is 120Hz.

SED can possibly have a chance if they perform better than the Kuro Plasmas and are priced better.

Sony's sexy BRAVIA KDL-55XBR8 gets reviewed: amazing, but expensive {Engadget HD}

Oct 22nd 2008 12:03PM People who can afford to spend $7K on a TV will most likely have already bought an Elite Kuro.

If this Sony, and the soon to be released 55" Samsung LED, had a street price similar to the regular Pioneer Kuro 60" (at around $3500), then I'm sure they would sell a lot more sets than they will at this price.
