Sprint keeping a watchful eye on G1, will offer Android when it's good and ready {Engadget}
Dec 12th 2008 12:32AM Ha, I said this before and I will say it again...it isn't "ready" for Sprint because Google knows that they're going to "Sprint-ify" it all up, put their ugly logo all over the dang thing and totally miss the point of an open OS that is user driven. When I was still on Sprint a few years ago, I installed the Gmail app and Oprea Mini on my phone. I was due for a software update, only to be told that I had to "remove the illegal apps" off my phone or risk forfeiting my warranty and service contract. Say what!?! See it is clear Sprint has not changed and I can't imagine what they would do to the Android Market. It might even be worse than fruit co. is doing on the fruit phone. Heck Sprint would probably ask that their logo appear on every single app. Honestly, I'll believe an Android device on Sprint when I see it and even then it probably won't be Android because they'll "Sprint it up". I'll just sit back, laugh, and enjoy my G1 on T-Mobile, where they understand the purpose of Android and let their customers make the phone what they want.

Dec 9th 2008 11:47PM Ha well I live in Overland Park, and let me tell you the story with Sprint and their service within about a 5-7 mile radius of the campus. The campus runs on a test frequency which actually interferes with your signal because cdma phones just try to lock onto whatever signal they can get. So if they actually had the cash to block the test signal it might fix things. Then again they have a long way to go to get back into the market. If they do get a android device, it will have a ton of sprint crap on it, a yellow layout, and they will probably lock the GPS feature so they can sell their junk. Google will not like their tactics unless they're willing to let someone truly own their phone. When I was still with Sprint, my Samsung razr knock off was acting up, so I took it to get the software updated. They refused to do anything with it because I downloaded the Gmail app and Oprea Mini and went so far to say I voided my warranty. I what? If they have that attitude then I guess Android really isn't for them, they won't want to service it because you have some app installed that they don't get a kickback for. I'll believe it when I see it, but you can bet your bottom dollar that they will "sprintify" up any android device only to annoy people and then T-Mo wins because they don't care.

Oct 19th 2008 12:40AM I live in Kansas City and I received this postcard as well. I would have thought at&t would have sent along something a bit more formal with new lineups or tiers or something. A postcard seems a bit random.
Lenovo S10 delayed two months? {Engadget}
Sep 10th 2008 2:21PM Yep, I'm in the same boat. I ordered a red s10 on 8/19, ship date shows 9/16 and I've called CS a few times to see where it is at. I seem to always get a different answer, but I'm not about to bail because it is by far the best looking netbook on the market. If only they would have noted "pre-order", I think most of us would be a little less frustrated with this fiasco.

Aug 28th 2008 10:54PM This is just cruel! I just got a BlackJackII and was touting the new features to some iphone users and it would have made my week to show these off. Seriously why does it take the cell companies soooooooo long to release these updates? What is the use of the Windows Update feature on the phone if it does no good?

Aug 19th 2008 11:50AM Has anyone confirmed the memory cannot be upgraded? I spotted some underside shots on gizmodo and it looks like the cover comes off, to reveal what I'm not sure. I also don't believe the poster who says MS is restricting netbooks to 512mb, if that was the case then why do so many others offer a gig?
