CTU ringtone for iPhone {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Dec 17th 2007 4:11PM That is a common ringtone for older Cisco(?) office phone systems. We used to have the same ring at my company but I can't remember which company made the phone. Maybe Lucent?

It's you friend, who are mistaken. I am capable of burning HD DVD formated movies onto DVD-R and DVD+R disc. I have done several times, it works and the results are in full HD, the playtime is shorter but all I need is an HD movie and DVD Studio Pro. Look it up before you call me out next time.

Nov 7th 2007 10:18PM I'm saying, I can shoot a movie in HD then burn it into an HD DVD formated disc but on normal DVD media with a normal DVD burner, it plays in full HD and I was able to make the discs without purchasing an HD DVD burner. Final Cut Studio supports it in DVD Studio Pro right off the bat.

Nov 7th 2007 10:06PM I've been saying that for a while now about Blu-ray, how can film fans choose BD? HD DVD is worth it just for the fact that it is Region Free. My friends and I had to buy special players to ignore regions on DVD, the lack thereof on HD DVD is like a breath of fresh air. I can make HD DVDs that play in my player and burn them to regular DVD disc with the equipment I already have, how kickass is that? As an independent filmmaker I already have two films that I have distributed on HD DVD at no additional cost.

How would you change the iPhone? {Engadget}
Jul 8th 2007 7:39PM The iPhone needs perfect Exchange integration so that contacts, calender, and e-mail can be used with push technology in the field without a connection to a computer. My WinMo Smartphone does this and it is hard to imagine life without it. I teetered on the decision to go iPhone but it is a big deal that these technologies don't communicate. I would be willing to switch if apple were to offer a mail/contacts/calender sever type system that could give Exchange a run for it's money, in fact I would prefer it and switch in an instant. That being said, obviously it needs 3G and GPS and it wouldn't hurt to have a changeable battery but the GPS and Battery are not deal breakers. I can learn to type on the keyboard but PLEASE fix exchange integration, or at least give us something comparable that is full of apple goodness. I would have gotten it within the first couple of days if I knew that Exchange would work like it does on my Windows Mobile phone.

Jul 4th 2007 1:20PM Sony wants to get us all locked into their monopoly control so that they can impose newer and more devious forms of DRM and hardware crippling protection schemes that make you buy what they want you to buy. Does not one else think it unethical for a movie studio to control the medium on which you get movies from all other studios? What happens if Sony decides to edge out an upstart indie studio by blocking their licensing? Sony has no right control how we watch our movies, especially those coming from other companies.
