Verizon FiOS to start transition to all digital in the spring {Engadget HD}

Feb 13th 2008 9:18PM I signed up for Verizon FIOS on 10/15/07 as one of their first customers in Pittsburgh. Dumped Comcast and haven't looked back. Better service, better performance, much faster Internet (especially upload speed), less compression artifacts, and lower price. And, our system was the first all-digital system Verizon installed. It's not all over Pittsburgh yet, but it is available in the So. Hills suburbs of Pittsburgh. Competition is Great!

IOGEAR's first automatic 2x1 HDMI switch now shipping {Engadget HD}

Mar 27th 2007 2:48PM I don't see how this new IOGEAR automatic 2X1 HDMI switch could work with an Apple TV, since the Apple TV is always on. Does anyone have a suggestion on this?

Also, I understand the www.extrememac.com HDMI switch will ship in mid-April. Anyone have any updates on this?

Thanks,
Alan

Samsung's UbiSync monitor rig: all USB, all the time {Engadget}

Mar 17th 2007 4:58PM I normally use a PC, but I have an app that uses a Mac-Mini, which is already in place. How can I use the new Samsung USB Monitor with a MAC? Any suggestions are appreciated!

Thanks,
Alan

Motorola K1m MOTOKRZR reviewed on Verizon {Engadget}

Sep 30th 2006 12:57AM This phone's older sibling, the Motorola RAZR V3m is a spectacular phone. I am talking about the original V3m with the silver metal keys and the charcoal case. The signal strength is excellent. The stereo Bluetooth works well with my handsfree speakerphone.

Good Luck!

Alan

MobiTV now available for Windows Mobile 5.0 {Engadget}

Jun 30th 2006 11:27AM MobiTV does not seem to work with Verizon Wireless at the present time. MobiTV has Verizon in Puerto Rico shown but not in the US.

I have a Motorola RAZR V3M. I guess my only option is VCAST. Any suggestions are appreciated.
