Nov 2nd 2009 12:53PM Better weight distribution under braking and better grip coming out of corners. The point is, you can make the straights longer, this gives you a few more mph at the end of the straight. This is the the whole point of race driving, extending the straights. Races are won by how fast you go on the straight and how early you can get on the throttle.
History has shown this layout is superior on the race track.

Oct 20th 2009 12:20PM The statistics about all the deaths from police chasing people is sickening. Are these all crimes worth chasing people for?
The other night I was channel surfing and saw a police chase video where they were going after a guy who didn't pay for $15 worth of gas. The chase went on the interstate at speeds over 100 mph in fairly thick traffic with the suspect going into the emergency lane several times to go around slower traffic. The cop deliberately took out the suspect's car by spinning it, and in the process wrecked someone else who they were passing. The car flipped and went in the ditch. The suspect suffered injuries but thankfully the bystanders did not in this case.
I'm all for catching criminals, but at what price to public safety? Was it worth it?

Oct 13th 2009 12:17PM Some friends of mine race in the TC class. I was told the series actually has to PAY Speed Channel for the air-time. Since they are probably hurting for sponsorship dollars and car counts are down this year, it makes the video production budget a little tight.
And I'll add that now it is two half hour shows instead of two one hour shows like it used to be (actual race length). And video production has gone downhill, the voice-overs by the guy from Dream Car Garage suck.
