Jul 27th 2008 1:41AM Have you ever tried an Onkyo DVD player? How does the picture and sound quality of an Onkyo DVD player compare to the Pioneer and Denon DVD players?
I've actually tried a Denon DVD player and I know that Denon's picture has more depth (objects look more 3-Dimensional) than Pioneer's picture. Does Onkyo's picture have the same depth as the Denon picture?

Jul 27th 2008 12:50AM You seem to be pretty serious about home theater sound. Maybe you should try a Denon from a store that accepts returns. Let me know what you think about the Denons.
I crossed Marantz off my list because I read that they tend to have a big warm sound. I am looking for a neutral sound which I read that the Onkyo/Integras and Denons have. What kind of music do you listen to with your Marantz?

Jul 24th 2008 10:28PM Well, I've heard a lot of praise for these Onkyo receivers and I know a lot of home theater reviewers actually buy Onkyo receivers with their own money so I feel almost pressured to buy an Onkyo.
Thanks for letting me know that anything less than an 875 doesn't do music well. It's just the slight reliability issues and running hot I'm a bit worried about leading me to believe that the Denons and Yamahas might be more reliable. I hope Onkyo fixes these issues in future models. Although I did read someone say that the Integras don't run as hot as the Onkyos. Have you had any issues with your Onkyo?
