Onkyo mixes HT-series receivers into lineup, confusion ensues {Engadget HD}
Aug 5th 2009 11:30PM honestly, they can fit in anywhere in the sub 1000 dollar range just like yamaha and denon can, and of course you can always go up from there. They make a lot of cheap, but also high end stuff so find out what works for you and your budget. That being said, you can also get some good stuff from them, just like how you can spend top dollar on yamaha, denon, pioneer, and marantz. And if you're really baller, you can drop 25,000 dollars on a receiver.

Jul 22nd 2009 7:07PM To be honest most people probably couldn't pick out 24p. They would notice the picture is nicer but they wouldn't be able to describe why. The audio and videophiles make it tough of there and the nitpick, which is good, but for most people they probably can't see a difference or don't care enough to worry about it. Ask yourself what you plan on doing with your TV and how much you're willing to spend. Pay for the best just because or Pay for what you need?
Ask Engadget HD: What's the best plasma to pick up in 2009? {Engadget HD}
Jul 22nd 2009 7:03PM Scott, it honestly depends on what you plan on watching, where you plan on watching it and what time of day. Plasmas are better TV's but if you have bay windows and like to watch day football and baseball games, you're gonna have a tough time. But if you have a home theater room, where the light is controlled aka the room is decently dark, plasmas would be fine. So ask your self, is it a TV in a living room where there are lots of windows or is this a type of dedicated media room? LCDs are not that bad, and 90% of the people out there could never pick out why plasmas are better than lcd's anyways. Too most LCD's look sharper, even though their color distribution and reproduction are completely off.

Jul 22nd 2009 6:59PM Samsung 850 or 860 plasma would be great, but be careful. About half of the users who own samsung plasmas have had an issue where the TV buzzes at a high frequency, younger ears are more apt to hear it, but not the less it has been an issue. That being said, if you want to stay with Panasonic, the px800U from last year or This years panasonic G10, or even nicer V10 would suffice. It all comes down to price. You gotta pay to play.

Just how bad is AT&T? {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Feb 13th 2009 10:16PM Living in Vermont, I really do miss Verizon, their service here is unrivaled and because it is the main carrier here, most natives all have it, so texting and calling was unlimited. I loved my i760, but....
I love my new Iphone now too not because it's flashy but because I can keep track of e-mails, calendars, to-do lists, MINT, and the news. Here's what I hate though, there's no 3G in Vermont and there won't be, wi-fi is generally good though so I won't make that a huge issue, I hate that as soon as I walk into a building I lose service and the phone just drops in and out. No internet no texting, but isn't that why I bought this? On top of that, I pay 90 dollars a month for the cheapest voice plan and 1500 texts.
In conclusion don't ever switch services just for a phone. While I love my iphone now ATandT service is not as good as verizon's here, it will eventually get better though. Since I don't travel to the boonies and the middle of nowhere all the time, and since i shouldn't be texting in class anyways, I stand by my purchase. But, if you can't make a phone call then you're paying 90 dollars a month to have a cool ipod touch.

Five lessons for investors from Obama's inauguration speech {BloggingStocks}
Jan 20th 2009 9:00PM Propaganda? Are you kidding me? More like motivation I'm an Obama supporter but talk is cheap and hopefully his administration (see it's not all about Obama) can come through with some of what they want to happen. Have you ever played sports, do you know what a coach's job is to do? It's to rile up his team, motivate them, because when times are hard and everything seems to be going against you, its all about how hard you work, and how you bounce back from what seems rock bottom. This is what Obama is trying to do. I walked into my student center today and classes stopped students professors, janitors, and our food staff all stood in front of the T.V.s to watch and listen. There's something brewing within all of us, somthing and someone that has inspired us, when it seems like there is no hope. So Would you rather listen to what we already know? That the Bush administration failed on many issues? That the economy sucks? Or rather how we can TRY to fix it. How WE can work to fix it. So you keep being a pessimist, and keep doubting on what we can try to achieve. You give us the fuel to prove you wrong. It's a free country and do what you want, but for those of us who are inspired. Even if we can't achieve everything, we can at least say we tried, we can say we never quit. Our actions will determine us, and hopefully Obama's action will determine his, because yes words are just words. But while his words inspire us into action, your words are just that, words.

Jan 8th 2009 2:39PM Palm, as long as your form factor is relatively sleek and you come up with something similar to the appstore. You have an iphone killer. that being said, even if you don't have the app store. You have finally come up with a phone that gives users an option other than the g1 and iphone. For that I applaud you. I hope you guys do well with this phone, I dont want to see another company go under.
