Bottom line is that if you don't live out in the middle of nowhere, don't expect FIOS anytime soon. If there's an area where only two houses can get it, though, Verizon will be there!

Apr 16th 2009 1:52AM You either don't have a compatible receiver (HR20, 21, or 22) or you haven't received the software update yet. While the buttons on the front panel may only go up to 1080i, the software update allows you to select and enable 1080p, assuming you're hooked up via HDMI. My HR21 received the software update several months ago.

Mar 30th 2009 3:10PM But, will they lower your cost when the price of Blu-Ray drops as has already been hinted at by some of the studios? Somehow, I think that's highly unlikely. Prices, much like taxes, never seem to go down, only up. That's the issue I take with this justification.

Oct 21st 2008 10:59PM No update, but I still came home to an unresponsive HR21-700 (still playing live TV, mind you) and had to reboot. Missed House and the first few minutes of Fringe as a result. HD-PVR here I come!!!!
