Anyways, i booked an appointment with the Genious bar and ended up being helped out by the Assistant Manager.
Anyway, she was very accommodating and helped me out without any issue. She looked at the cord, and replaced it with no questions!
The thing is, I actually went into to the store about 6 months ago and was told there was nothing I could do so I had to buy another one. Anyway, the Assistant store manager said that I could bring that one back (eventhough its past the return period) and they would refund me!
Apple has improved in CS lately. I also had to have my battery completely replaced after it was only charging at 30% of capacity within 2 years! Brand new battery + new power adapter (all at no cost) and my Laptop is pretty much just like it was 2 years ago!

Aug 20th 2008 9:20AM Same thing here. I replaced mine around 6 months ago, came to like $100. I still have my old one that is broken, so i'm going to go back to the store and get another and try and get my $100 refund from the one I originally purchased and bitch them out.
Worse comes to worse, i'll just take the new one they give me and sell it on eBay or something like that.

Jul 16th 2008 1:30PM Yes, I agree with you that they are trying to lock you into a contract and to retain the market as there will be new players coming in down the road in the next few years.
But honestly, like I've said its not that big of a deal. The maximum you are forced to pay to for the DECF is $100. I will definitely save more than $100 throughout the term of this contract.
Even if there was a better plan that would by chance come to the market, you could easily switch your plan over to that (it will force you to renew your contract) but that $100 DECF is worth it.
PS. no one us forcing you to sign a 3 year contract. If you don't want to then you can stick with your $30/300MB. You can stop bitching because it's not like they are forcing you to sign up for the promotion. We should be happy that they are even offering such a plan. It is probably one of the best plans in the world and is superior to ATT's unlimited plan because from others have said that doesn't allowe tethering and it has a 5GB soft cap.

Jul 16th 2008 9:53AM Wouldn't you want to sign a 3-year data contract? For 3-years you're guaranteed to have 6GB for $30. The promo ends in August, so who knows what the price will be by then.
Like I said, I had 2 Years and 9 Months left on my Data contract and all I had to do was re-new it so it only added on 3-months worth which is nothing.
BTW, the DECF is only $100 so if I wanted to get out of my data contract its only $100. Having to sign a 3-year contract to get $30/6GB or stick with the $30/300MB is definitely worth the $100 Risk.

Not to mention Boxing Day as well! That's probably when I'll be stocking up as we up here in Canada have HUGE discounts.

Jul 16th 2008 8:41AM I added this to my BlackBerry Pearl 8100 on day one of the data plan launch.
Anyone can add this plan, and you can switch over your currently data plan to this without any issue at all. The only catch is that you have to renew your plan. I had 2 years and 9 months left on my current data plan that was $30/300MB and renewed for the 3 year term (woohoo, a whole 3 extra months) and was able to add the $30/6GB without any issue.
This also works for Grey market phones as well.
PS. It does allow tethering. It states in one of the flyers that were distributed to the employees that it was included.
