DirecTV 11 satellite tests out 17/24 GHz BSS bands {Engadget HD}

Jun 21st 2008 11:39AM Dtv 11 is mostly for HD local channels. There is no need for Dtv to broadcast in 1080p because none of the networks broadcast there stations in 1080p. They (networks) just spent millions of $$$ to get to 1080i. It would just not be a wise move for them cost wise. We just discussed this topic at a Dtv meeting in Chicago on Thur.
