Top 10 questions from WoW players on the EQ2 forums {Massively}
Jul 3rd 2008 9:28AM Lots of those questions on the EvE forums too. And boy, talk about Flame-Bait. Wow players are trashed every chance they get for trying to make EvE more wow-like. And talk about a learning curve, Ive been playing for 2+ years and still dont know half of the stuff in EvE.
Pontiac ad is glorious homage to Spy Hunter {Joystiq}
Mar 14th 2008 7:19AM The G8 is going to be one hot ride. The wife is on her 2nd G6 (leases) and its also a great car, well built, nice interior, fun to drive. Things Pontiac used to be a while back. The G8 is gonna be a killer, especially with the v8 option.
As for the commercial, thats some seriously smart advertising. Give the person who came up with that idea a rase because everyone who ever played Spy Hunter is going to feel an instant emotional attraction to that ad.
The Daily Grind: When's your playtime? {Massively}
Jan 13th 2008 9:36AM On the weekends I log in usually first thing and stay logged in until i go to sleep or out to party. Granted, im not always at the computer, but if i get some time to sit and play, then im already logged in.
Weekdays, i play from when i get home until my wife gets home. I get off EvE then unless im involved in a big fleet fight or were running a mining op or something.
EVE Trinity: Starbase Warfare switched back on {Massively}
Dec 11th 2007 7:24AM Ok, so its hit a few bumps, but it hasnt been all that bad. Need for Speed has done some good things cuz I was online when that record breaking number was hit and there wasn't any issues in gameplay where I was... Jita, well, thats a whole nother story but not out in 0.0 where we were.
The POS thing sucked for CCP, but i didnt mind a few days off from trying to break Sov and shoot at stationary buildings.
I'll agree, the bootini incident (your words) was a big messup, but the rest of this stuff has to be expected in the first few days/weeks of such a massive patch. You absolutely cannot test everything in a game so large.
EVE Trinity premium client patch woes: How-to-fix botched XP boot.ini file {Massively}
Dec 6th 2007 10:09PM if you go to 'start' -> 'run' -> 'edit c:\boot.ini' in XP Pro and copy the listed 'document' in the above article i can tell you that it works for me. I mrunning a RAID 0+1 array and didnt have any of the issues others apparently experienced either.
Other than that, the only thing im noticing is that my FPS wont go above 60 no matter what i do... get a couple ships my client hasnt cached yet and things drop to about 25-30. Until i get my other 8800 gte [hopefully christmass] im not to excited about 200 v 200 fleet battles
EVE Trinity premium client patch woes: How-to-fix botched XP boot.ini file {Massively}
Dec 6th 2007 6:44PM My Win XP Pro booted after i shit it off. I had gone to bed before i saw this had happened. Wife turned it on this morning and sense there was no screaming, it had booted. Apparently Pro has a backup or doesnt need it or maybe runs on magic pixie dust, but when i went to check for my boot.ini file, it was LOOOOOOOOOOOON GOOOOONE. little editing and the files operating properly.
The Daily Grind: What's in a name? {Massively}
Dec 3rd 2007 9:50PM All of my characters names have been the same. I made it up when i was in grade school, carried it with me through High School, onto College... Tiger woods, Madden, and any other game i played that allowed for custom char names. Even used it as my On-Air persona when i worked in Radio. Now i use it as my char name in Eve.
It's actually kind of funny how many people have 're-found' me because the name has stayed constant for so long.
and, no... its not pacey
Warning the locals in EVE Online {Massively}
Nov 27th 2007 7:50AM Just check out the map. It may not always show a camp or pending doom, but if you see a BIG RED DOT over the next system you have to get through, migh be best to wait or find another route.
Heck, anything more than 3 or 4 ship kills in an hour and a couple of pod kills in that same time should get your attention.
New Trinity trailer makes Sci-Fi geeks gasp in awe [Updated] {Massively}
Nov 26th 2007 8:36PM [drooool]
The 30s teaser vid was enough to make me glad i started playing 2 years ago, the full length trailer made me... well... yeah.
words dont describe how awesome this is and how excited I am to see it. Let's hope it doesnt get pushed back. I might just have to fly to Iceland if it does.
Skill leveling: manual or automatic? {Massively}
Nov 24th 2007 4:07PM I love EvE's skill method. Sure I can set a 30 day skill and leave, come back a month later and have it done... wait... wheres the downside?
Oh, yeah, i dont have to mindless grind away at NPCs to level, just earn isk, which in EvE can be done so many different ways its sick.
