Doorbusting at Long Island Walmart leads to worker's death {Engadget}

Nov 28th 2008 5:01PM Whatever conclusions you draw about it, the fact is he's right. The consumer and employee demographic for that particular Walmart is a minority one. I live near it, but shop at another, much better staffed Walmart.

Nov 28th 2008 4:50PM The earlier reports DID say the woman miscarried. Later reports said that she and her baby were fine after being examined at a hospital.

Sony's PlayStation 3 tops another "Best Blu-ray player" list {Engadget HD}

Nov 25th 2008 2:07PM You seem to be too hung up about the PS3 being a gaming console. Why should it matter? Overall it's a format were talkning about, not the device that delivers that format. It's $400 for all that it does, so the price is justifiable as a media device, not a BD player.

Anyhow, until very recently, the PS3 was the cheapest BD player and did way more than the standalones going for $600. How quickly things have changed in a couple of months. YOu can now get a standalone for

Poll: How are you enjoying HD Netflix streaming on the Xbox 360? {Engadget HD}

Nov 23rd 2008 5:22PM @ Jeff,

Netflix model still remains primarily disc based rentals over the mail and their selection should be judged as such. Their watch now feature is a perk, and not one they are charging extra for. If you subscribe simply for their online streaming, then thats on you.
I do agree their selection available to stream is lacking, but will improve over time.

Poll: How are you enjoying HD Netflix streaming on the Xbox 360? {Engadget HD}

Nov 22nd 2008 4:26PM Love it. Been using it since day one and have not had any issues playing HD content whatsoever. Cut off HBO and Starz from my cable bill immediately after playing a couple of movies. With the Netflix 2 disc plan, I get BD movies in the mail, and I have the play now movies to fill in the time between receiving movies in the mail. And I can only assume they will add more content to the play now as time goes by, so it'll only get better.

I can see Netflix adding a premium for this service eventually, and honestly I would pay an additional $5-8 a month if all/most of their DVD/BD titles were available to play instantly, and in HD/5.1 audio. I much prefer a monthly fee with unlimited access, than paying a rental fee per title.

Under genres, after you activate your Netflix account for XBOX streaming, you should now see HD as a category. You can then look at all instant content available in HD.

That's like saying that MS should not provide Sony with Windows Vista, Office, etc for their VAIO laptops.

What you're saying would also apply to Samsung BD players that are supposed to also stream Netflix soon no? Sony and Samsung both make BD players...

This smells like a case of sour grapes on Sony's part simply due to the fact that MS was able to roll out an even better online experience than Sony could ever dream up. Home is a joke that promised much and has yet to deliver. Sony needs to stop the BS and not make themselves look like douchebags. It will backfire on them.

Netflix no longer carrying HD DVDs as of December 15th {Engadget HD}

Nov 13th 2008 5:37PM I feel bad for those 3 people who still had HD DVD's on their queue.
