Sling.com internet TV portal opens to the public, Hulu quakes {Engadget HD}
Dec 2nd 2008 9:49PM I'm not sure why Hulu is quaking. Most of the content I checked out through Sling was Hulu content anyway.
HD Netflix streaming coming to Samsung's BD-P2500 / BD-P2550 Blu-ray players {Engadget HD}
Nov 26th 2008 12:38PM Where's the Roku love?
Sony's PlayStation 3 tops another "Best Blu-ray player" list {Engadget HD}
Nov 25th 2008 12:24PM It's going to be hard to beat for quite sometime. The fact that it can be updated on the fly (which other network capable players can do as well you pay a premium for the ability), has those fast load times that were alluded to, can be a pretty decent media center with streaming from the network and oh yeah it plays games too.
Sony sees PlayStation 3 sales skyrocket 56%, Blu-ray a factor? {Engadget HD}
Nov 15th 2008 12:33PM I bought my PS3 for the BD player. Surprisingly I use it a lot less for watching movies than I thought. I'm really loving the games. I figured my kid would be into it (which he is) but I'm hooked too. LBP and WipeoutHD are getting quite a workout.
Poll: Has "the economy" shaken your HD purchase plans? {Engadget HD}
Nov 8th 2008 1:17PM I'm wanting a smaller flat screen for the bedroom. Honestly they're rather pricey for the size. However I've been seeing that the soft economy might make them more manageable. So I guess I'm waiting to take advantage.
Ask Engadget HD: What's the best movie rental service? {Engadget HD}
Nov 5th 2008 1:01PM I gotta go with Netflix. Honestly I've not used any other mail in service but if Blockbuster Online is ran anything like their brick/mortar stores are there's no need to check it out.
I've got about a 2 day turn around with Netflix and I must be in an area that BD's aren't rented much because I've never had a delay renting them which seems to be a complaint with many people. I've also got a Roku box and love having a large reserve of old classics (both TV and movies) at the ready.
MSNBC to go HD in the spring {Engadget HD}
Oct 24th 2008 11:49AM While most of their programming is SD with HD "wings" there is some native HD programming.

ION sets to launch HD in 2009, no kidding this time {Engadget HD}
Oct 22nd 2008 2:08AM Well it may not be great but at least they're trying. There's a bunch of so called HD channels (and ones that could really benefit from true HD) that are nothing more than "place holders" for real HD.
I don't think I've ever watched anything on ION but again at least they're giving HD a try.
DirecTV DVR software update hits the stage again, now with slightly less fail {Engadget HD}
Oct 21st 2008 11:52PM On a side note. I just noticed my PS3 now shows the DirecTV DVR as a media server. Unfortunately it won't play anything on it but it does show up.

Oct 21st 2008 11:38PM Had the minor reboot problems with the prior update but this one went flawlessly. I'm noticing something that isn't confirmed by the D* splash screen. It seems like my HR21-200 seems to scroll through the guide much faster. Maybe not but it certainly seems so and if that's the case I'm extremely happy with this update.
