Potential new TiVo user interface shown on video {Engadget}
Sep 29th 2008 10:40AM Tivo, you release that interface on a new "Series 4", and I'M SOLD.
That's WAY nicer than the horrible Comcast Motorola DVR interface, and yet quite an upgrade to the current Tivo interface.
SimpleTech trots out 3TB Duo Pro / 1.5TB Pro external HDDs {Engadget}
Sep 26th 2008 8:51PM LOL, I thought it had something to do with Eset's NOD32 anti-virus protection.
Too bad Motorola DVR's don't work with external storage. I'd like the 1.5TB for my DVR please.
Hitachi makes like Toshiba and touts "super resolution technology" {Engadget HD}
Sep 25th 2008 6:25PM Looks like they just turned on Edge Enhancement in that image. I leave Edge Enhancement off on my Samsung plasma because it makes stuff look altered and fake. When you look out a window, do you have accented white lines around everything? No!
Comcast's 14 new HD channels nearly ready for Longmont, CO {Engadget HD}
Sep 17th 2008 1:40PM 35 PPV ? Why, ever heard of on demand?
DirecTV's HR22 HD DVR filtering out {Engadget HD}
Sep 14th 2008 11:22PM So why can't cable companies demand DVR's from their providers with some half decent storage? 120 and 160GB on a DVR that does not allow expansion (Motorola) is AWFUL!
I'd have DirecTV in a heartbeat, but I cannot get a signal where I live. If I move, clairity to the southern side OR Fios availability will be a requirement. Comcast sucks.
Panasonic holds live tru2way demonstration on TH-50PZ80Q plasma {Engadget HD}
Sep 6th 2008 10:42AM Of course they don't have the ad's turned on in the guide. When you get this for real, I bet that last row will be ad's. They could of at least changed the grid guide to single height to show 6 channels on the screen at once.
Graphically it looks much better than the current I-Guide software, but I like that 16:9 HD guide that was shown at CES and The Cable Show dubbed "J-Guide 3.0".
Panasonic & Comcast to demonstrate "real" tru2way at CEDIA {Engadget HD}
Sep 4th 2008 4:52PM So how about they put USB 2.0, firewire, and eSATA ports on the TV. Want DVR? Then I could buy that 750GB external drive from Tiger Direct for $99. Or heck, 1TB drives will eventually be that price, and then larger. Storage is cheap. Let the consumers pick the size drive they want and spend how much they want for it. Better then the measly 120 / 160 GB drives in today's DVR's.
Xbox 360 price cut coming on September 5 -- Arcade now $199 {Engadget}
Sep 3rd 2008 6:09PM Wow what a rediculous price difference between the Elite and the Pro...
Elite $399.99 vs Pro $259.99. $140 for a friggen black case and 120 GB hard drive. I could get a 750GB hard drive at TigerDirect for $99. Storage is so cheap today, why are they 1)skimpy on the hard drive or 2)heavy on the price ?
Want people to buy it, then price it accordingly.
Super Nintendo controller table signals a trend {Engadget}
Aug 31st 2008 9:05AM Thats awesome!
I always grew up using the ASCII Pad though. Also I've wondered why the US release only uses two colors for the ABXY buttons, while the Japanese release uses 4 colors?

Verizon vs tru2way, and the hits roll on {Engadget HD}
Aug 30th 2008 11:08PM Verizon's software is far superior anyway. Come on, Multi-Room DVR, Connectivity to your PC, Widgets, games, graphically rich guide. Light years ahead of anything a big op like Comcast has. They just need to include high resolution support for 16:9 HDTV's. Heck, all providers need to include that in their next guide version.
