Select AT&T stores selling refurbished iPhones? {Engadget}
Mar 1st 2008 7:14PM Hey Engadget...I emailed you last month that Apple Stores are selling refurbished iPhones. Here's a link: http://www.gadgetguru.com
The Torch flashlight: why illuminate when you can incinerate? {Engadget}
Jan 28th 2008 2:05PM It seems a good market for this product is as a lighter for a charcoal BBQ grill.
Are one in three iPhones sold being unlocked? {Engadget}
Jan 25th 2008 12:26PM Hey, be nice. It's a non-advertising site. There's no profit motive here!
The skinny on iPhone and iPod touch firmware 1.1.3 {Engadget}
Jan 15th 2008 7:23PM One Word: SEARCH. I don't think there's another "smart phone" on the market without a search feature - allowing the user to search the contacts or calendar database. Come on Apple, add this feature!
The upgrade worked seamlessly on Vista! Sorry Mac Fanboys.
For the Air, sorry but it's the wrong product at the wrong time. Yes, it's cool, but it's basically featureless. For that price tag, I'd expect quite a bit more bang for the buck. In this economy, I don't see this being a huge seller. Yes, some will sell, but it's no iPhone.
Sony BMG's head lawyer says ripping CDs is "stealing" {Engadget}
Oct 4th 2007 12:20PM It seems like the next step should be a class action suit against Sony for selling us all that hardware and software that allows us to copy music onto CDs. Also, since Sony co-developed the CD with Philips, didn't they profit from the sale of every blank CD? It seems that the defense is doing a good job in pointing out that while Sony doesn't want people to copy music, it has profited by selling us all the tools required to copy music onto CDs.
Volvo adding new safety features to S80, XC70, and V70 automobiles {Engadget}
Aug 29th 2007 8:49AM Many of these features are available on the current Volvo S80. It's a shame they have yet to upgrade that antiquated non-touch screen GPS. Current Volvo models equipped with GPS feature three steering column-mounted buttons to enter information into the GPS. My understanding that it won't be until 2009 when Volvo enters the world of touch-screen GPS. Touch screen dramatically reduces the amount of time required to enter destination addresses and navigate deep menus.

How would you change the iPhone? {Engadget}
Jul 8th 2007 7:20PM Other than the obvious omissions, there are only two features that I would like to see included in the first iPhone software update. Both would simplify usage and should be fairly easy to implement.
1) A Search Feature that would allow for searches in email or in contacts. For example, on the Blackjack, you can search your contacts by simply typing in the first few letters of a persons name and view the results. This is an easy fix and I hope it's in the first update. The same feature could be used for searching keywords in email.
2) The ability to save a Word or PDF document. If you email yourself a Word or PDF document, it would be nice to be able to save and retrieve it upon command. These are small files and the existing memory can be used. Of course, you would need an interface link to your stored files to gain access.
Giveaway: have an iPhone on us! {Engadget}
Jul 1st 2007 11:19AM What can I say other than I typically stay away from 1st generation products when paying for it "out of pocket," but for free, I'll be happy to provide my expertise and opinions to Engadget about the pros and cons of activating, synchronizing (with Outlook) and the real world use of the iPhone. Since I go back and forth between strong and marginal AT&T coverage areas and am currently using a 3G Blackjack, I will be able to provide a non-biased comparison between these two multi-faceted phones. Also, I love Engadget! (Does kissing up help?)
