AT&T splitting 2 HD / 2 SD and 1 HD / 3 SD into separate service levels? {Engadget HD}
Jul 22nd 2008 11:23PM I install uverse for a living and i just have to laugh at this.
I got the memo a while back about them extending the distance. all i have to say to that is:
LOL YEA RIGHT.
we can't even get sync @ 2600 feet most of the time, forget 3000. and they're trying to push to 3400? yea right. that must be the best copper in the world.
TWC posts rollout schedule for HD channels in Southern California {Engadget HD}
Jul 18th 2008 3:57PM i just noticed that these are probably all lumped in (along with westwood) in west LA.
but still, there are plenty of heavily populated cities missing from this list.
TWC posts rollout schedule for HD channels in Southern California {Engadget HD}
Jul 18th 2008 1:46PM what about downey? the south bay? westwood?
those are the only family/friend places i visit often enough that havn't upgraded to directv or some other source of HD goodness.
luckily for me, there's no cable lines to run a drop to my house, so I didn't get sucked back in to time warner before i got to try out satellite. what a revelation that was.
FSN: 24/7 high definition in 2009, more HD than any other sports provider {Engadget HD}
May 19th 2008 6:10PM I have directv in los angeles, and i have both FSN West and FSN prime ticket in HD channels, but neither of my baseball games are broadcast in HD, but when i go over to my girlfriend's house, where she has one channel dedicated to FSN HD and it only turns on when there's an actual HD game on, her baseball games are in HD. what gives?
and yes, i'm 100% sure i'm on FSN's hd channel.
TWC readies 12 new HD channels for Southern California {Engadget HD}
May 13th 2008 11:43PM i've been under the impression that cable/satellite subscribers (and the channels broadcast on said systems) do not need to be switched to analog. only Over the air channels that you'd get through a regular antennae.
i agree though. i LOVE my directv and I got it over TW cable just because of the extra hd channels, but a lot of the directv hd channels (and some nowcoming to time warner) really are fakes and its quite annoying. disney channel HD, mtvHD (not MHD) and nickelodeon HD are some that pop right off the top of my head. neither of them has ever broadcast anything in real HD and i doubt they ever will at this rate.
CBS College Sports Network goes HD, now showing on DirecTV {Engadget HD}
May 7th 2008 9:27PM this channel has been around in HD since i got directv about a month and a half ago, but i don't have access to it..does this mean its going to work now and the channel i was seeing was just saved for this network and not available yet?
