Oct 15th 2008 6:18PM This is my reasoning. Everyone complained that the reason before they had to buy a pro model was because of the graphics, so they beefed up the graphics on the MacBook line. Now what is to stop people from buying the pros now if the MacBook is all they need? Now its fireWire, and while yes it is dying and most of the complainers are about hardware they have, not hardware they are going to buy.... So the reasoning behind buying the pro is for firewire support and express card support. Did you really think they cut the price as a nice gesture to customers? They offered a powerful entry level laptop for the average consumer and leave it up to you if you need the pro model. No one is saying the currently old macbook pro wouldn't do a great job, its just....where is the money at?
